There's whole threads about it. It's been going on since the South China Sea dispute... but it has gotten worse with Trump's comments about possibly not making payments to China on the U.S. debt. Then there is his talks on tariffs, and finally his call to Taiwan which is against U.S. policy. Which has then got China flying nuclear bombers in international waters.

The One China policy... that's basically been in effect since 1972.

Funny that doesn't effect the arms we sale to Taiwan and there is the Taiwan Relations Act which states that any agreement made before 1979 is still in affect this includes the Sino-American Mutual Defense Treaty which means if China attacks Taiwan the US is obligated to intervene. China has been making some threatening moves in the South China Sea lately so its a ppossibility that the defense treaty will get a dust off.

By the way in the One China Policy the US uses the term understands, not recognize or support China's claim.
