The ends justify the means, right?

I guess conservative favs Scalia, Thomas, and Alito aren't so smart afterall,

since they stupidly still insist the mandate is NOT a tax.

eh?

Ya know...4 of the justices on the high court are over 70. Three of the four voted nay on the ACA. Obama may get to replace 2 more justices in his second term.

Sure

They can stop running from it and now run on...

Papa Obamacare: It’s not just a big f***ing deal… It’s the biggest f***ing regressive tax in history

what is the biggest tax in history? the penalty tax for not following the rules of the mandate if you can afford to buy insurance?

less than 1% in massachusetts have no insurance or pay that penalty tax.

I would imagine, that by 2020, most everyone in the USA will have health insurance, as it was in Massachusetts, and very few will be hit with that tax penalty by then....

or are you calling our health insurance policy bill, paid to private insurance companies, a tax? Even though it does not go to our government but to ''for profit'' businesses?

One can not opt out of either one
It is a tax

Some states give their tax collection to private agencies
it does not make it any less a tax

Just a little pregnant approach to taxes
is going strong

Doesn't matter how many lies Obama told to get to today's results. All that matters is that Obamacare was upheld.

And as a bonus, Obamacare will bring so many headaches with it that when the implementation is finally over politicians will have all the ammo they need to scrap it and move to nationalized healthcare.

Win-win, huh?

I prefer the GOP plan of...

Let them die

Has anyone missed the hilarity of all these conservatives who have now conceded that the Healthcare Bill IS constitutional,

after all those months of having to listen to them confidently insisting that it wasn't?

What a bunch of idiots.

Yeah, silly us taking the Congressional intent and Obama's words at face value and focusing on the commerce clause argument.

In that we were vindicated. The expansion of the powers under the commerce clause would have effectively erased the 9th and 10th amendments and that was not allowed.

On the other hand what we already knew about how Obama would say anything and everything to maneuver around public opinion was also reinforced. IF it had been presented as a tax there is no way there would have been enough Democrats on board to pass it.

Obama's stubborn commitment to saying whatever it takes to get around the will of the people has been rewarded in the short term. America now gets to decide whether they want to reward it in the long term. We'll see how that goes.

Obama was only 1 vote away from being right in his opinion about it not being a tax.

He had the conservative wing of the Court on his side, save one.

The irony here is priceless. Obama wins for the wrong reason; conservatives lose for the right reason; conservatives switch sides and endorse the liberal side of the Court,

so they can attack Obama, who agreed with the conservative side of the Court.

Beautiful.

It's a tax cut for the middle class. There are about $4000 in tax deductions for families to help afford medical care. The truth on this, just as with every Right Wing lie, will come out, and Republicans will lose even more credibility with average Americans.

YAY!

Obama claimed BOTH sides. Claiming one side can be an honest opinion. Disagreeing with one side can be an honest difference of opinion.

The conservative judges can be honest and wrong at the same time. Obama is simply dishonest. He claimed categorically that it wasn't a tax, and then argued that it was. That's not an honest difference of opinion. One of the positions could be a mistake. The two together reveal a lying douche whom you're proud of for getting away with pulling a fast one on the American people.

Obama said it wasn't a tax and he said it was. He said a mandate would be wrong and he said it was right. He said he was a single payer supporter and he said he never said that.

Fascinating insight into the Obama apologists' minds today. They only hear half of what Obama says.

He didn't argue the case. Why aren't you ragging on Romney btw, who claimed he never raised taxes in MA and yet his healthcare mandate costs millions in taxes every year in MA?

You're going to vote for your 'lying douche', correct?

Republicans specifically said that the overreach of using the commerce clause to justify Obamacare was unconstitutional. They were right.

Ya'll won the day. I accept that. America in a wave of mindless euphoria voted for a megalomaniac and Roberts said that we get what we voted for. We gotta deal with it.

Let's see if you carry the win past November.

Hopefully we can at least make ya'll have to fight for it.

Yup, I'm going to vote for my douche. I want a douche with a proven record for solving fiscal problems, not someone who has a grand social vision and doesn't care how many more problems he creates because he's convinced that he is doing the right thing. And especially not one who plunges ahead with his irresponsible social experiment on an enormous nationwide scale regardless of how much resistance he faces from his constituents because he's convinced that after it is all over we will accept how brilliant he was and will come to believe that he did the right thing. I should quit calling him a liar. He might believe his falsehoods. Maybe he's not a lying douchebag. Maybe he's just a crazy douchebag.

The arguments I remember on that score were from people scoffing at Obama trying to have it both ways. You can't claim categorically that it's not a tax and then send your surrogate in to argue that it is.

Oh wait, I guess you can. Live and learn. Obama definitely has nadz. I'll give him that. His spine is of questionable consistency. But he has ballz.
