The Farce of the Deal......

I think Trump is setting us all up so he can COLLUDE with China and N. Korea to win in 2020. That’s really what you think too, huh Nat4900.

What the fuck are you and your cult membership talking about???

Go speak to U.S. farmers and fishermen and find out what THEY think of their economic future and how they'll once again vote for Trump AGAINST their own best interests.

and extra 16 billion dollars will buy a lot of votes

True.....at least for a while.......But it all depends on just how farmers see their future. Do they think that these "unemployment benefits" they're getting from Trump (basically a bribe from taxpayers to appease farmers) will last for future generations???

If these past couple of weeks are an indication of just how terrible the Trump administration is running our country, the beginning of the end has certainly begun.

But my concern is what the next 19 months will cause to our economy, post-Trump with his insane tariffs and anti free-trade policies.

There are reports that China will no longer be the biggest buyer of our 350,000 soy-bean farmers, since they've found willing sellers in Brazil and Argentina (and actually, the Chinese are pouring in millions to enhance the soy-bean harvest in those South American countries.)

China was also a huge buyer of our seafood...especially of lobsters from Maine....and has now switched to buying those delicacies from Canadians........and also, the once booming wine market from our western states has forced China to turn to European and Australian wineries.

The above few examples are important because we may never get these trades back, even when the tariffs are removed by a saner administration.

Trump's trade failures are not just temporary setbacks and we cannot expect American tax payers to keep subsidizing those US industries who are being devastated by this charlatan and his moronic deals.
There are NO estimates of the economics impact of the tariffs Trump is a true AH

The main point here is that when China turns to Brazil to buy soybeans, what makes Trump and his cult think that something magical will make China run back to US farmers just because of Trump's "charm"???

What would the critics do instead? Is the current status quo fine, the theft of American intellectual property, etc?

Or is the "timing" wrong? Right now, America has low unemployment, the Trump Economy is booming. If this isn't the time ,the time will never come.

Comparing the blatant stealing by China of intellectual property is NOT the same as slaughtering our farmers' capabilities to sell their harvest.......China may not be able to steal from Brazil that country's "intellectual property"....BUT China can certainly by-pass Iowa's soybeans for Brazilian ones.

ALSO, for all other morons in Trump's cult..........Obama brought down the unemployment rate from 10.4% to 4.7%........and Trump further lowered it by about a "whopping" ONE-HALF of a percentile..........STOP the idiotic worshipping of an orange charlatan and think on your own.......objectively and fairly.
Actually the unemployment rate was 7.2% when Obama seized power in January 2009- and he promptly increase to above 10. In fact it was over 9 by this time in his term.

TARIFFS!! The dems are whining about TARIFFS!!

1. What percent of goods sold in the US are from China? ANS: About 15%
2. Who has the much stronger hand in negotiations, the US or China? ANS: the US

what percentage of goods sold in the us are made in china - Google Search
Only about 15 percent of U.S. imports come from China. Moreover, all of the basic types of manufactured consumer goods that China exports to the United States (clothing, textiles, footwear, toys, small appliances, etc.) can be imported from other countries or could be produced domestically.

Only 19% of what China exports goes to the US.

I would have guessed a higher export percentage since the US has a $19T "market economy". Navarro and Lightheizer are earning their pay!
The US is 25% of global GDP and China is 15% with the EU at 22%. I applaud Trump for demanding a better trade deal with China. The US cannot afford to subsidize China any longer, China is not an "emerging market". So the "trade war" is pretty much small potatoes except for the few industries that are affected, and if Trump makes them whole, no big deal.

He's as charming as a skunk

Nat you are not getting the fact that China is stealing from the US and eventually will dominate the US if Trump doesn't stop them and demand free and fair trade. Your whiny posts point to farmers getting hurt by the tariffs, but don't mention that Trump will protect them using tariff money. Trump is protecting US workers more than any prior president. Remember when BO said that those jobs are not coming back? The dems have no plan to bring jobs back to the US, free college doesn't create jobs.

Trump is playing the long game and lefty loons just can't see it.

China has been screwing us for decades and its about time someone leveled the trade field.

Its no opinion that these tariffs are the biggest tax increase in decades. This is objective truth.

The beer industry must layoff 40,000 workers due to tariffs. All this is because tariffs are paid by US businesses and US consumers.

Walmart says you'll pay more.

They are not paid by me, I have a choice....

.

Of course they are.

EXACTLY! That's why we pulled the pin and sent Trump there.
The DC clowns never ran companies and only know how to work for K-Street and not the rest of us.

Dimwit, THINK on your own......

The O/P 's subject is that China can easily buy soybeans from several other sources...whereas the U.S. can almost ONLY buy a solar panel or electric car through China's exports to the U.S.

They have screwed us so badly we are now suffering through the longest period of sustained job growth in the history of the country, and we are mired in the 2nd longest period of economic expansion in the history of the country, which will become the longest in 2 months. They have taken so many of our jobs we now have sub 4% unemployment with more jobs than people to fill them. And we were forced to endure record setting financial markets...until the start of the trade war.

Thank goodness Trump is saving us from these terrible things
