The House didn't have to defund Obamacare - it was never funded in the first place

Even before today's successful vote on the Continuing Resolution to fun the entire U.S. government for the next year.... the House didn't need to do anything at all, if they wanted to "defund" Obamacare.

Obamacare already didn't have this needed funding. It has never had it. It was already "defunded", if you will.

The House didn't have to pass anything at all, to "defund" it. All they had to do was, nothing.

It's the Democrats who are insisting that the government suddenly come up with extra $billions and $trillions, to fund Obamacare, on top of all the other money the government needs to operate.

Hey, Democrats: The problem isn't in what the House did or didn't do. The problem is, that you created this new, huge money sinkhole, and then started stamping your feet and insisting the House come up with new money to throw into it. And this at a time when we don't even have the money to pay for programs that we've had for years.

Well, guess what.

A year ago, the House didn't come up with those extra $billions.

And a month ago, the House didn't come up with those extra $billions.

And a week ago, the House didn't come up with those extra $billions.

And today, the House didn't come up with those extra $billions. (BTW, today the House did come up with the money needed to run every other government program in existence. But that's got nothing to do with your new money sinkhole called Obamacare)

Now, you're telling me that you will hold ALL those regular, annually-funded government programs hostage to your one, new money sinkhole, and veto a bill that has nothing to do with Obamacare? Because you didn't get a bunch of extra money on top of it, for your new sinkhole?

Oh, and you're telling me that it's Republicans who are acting unreasonable, childish, and are "refusing to compromise"?

Maybe you should have asked the House whether they were going to come up with so many extra $billions to throw into your new money sinkhole, before you held your secret closed-door sessions to design it and midnight-Christmas-eve votes to pass it.

You could have saved yourself a lot of trouble. And spared yourself the necessity of lying even more, as you are doing now, about why your new money sinkhole isn't getting the $billions you're demanding for it... and whose fault that is.
