The Last Temptation - How American Evangelicals Sold Their Collective Souls For Politics

Like I stated, my signature in the context of the information provided concerning the Mueller report is a road map; apparently you suck at orienteering.

Blub, Blub, Blah, Blah, "signature in context" just who the fuck do you think you're kidding "KID?" Post those exact pages you CLAIM are in volume II in the PDF YOU posted a link to. I looked and, as I already schooled you, volume II only goes to page 180. Where are the missing pages? Or did you just make that up out of nothing like your entire OP?

"pages 227 - 368 of the PDF" means EXACTLY what it states.

There is a PDF page counter in the upper left corner of the PDF.

Do you need a first grade tutorial on how to use it?

OK, you could have said that before instead of obfuscating where there was no need. Show me one place that proves anything like obstruction on those PDF page numbers because I can't find anything but speculation. Not even Mueller could find it which is why he said he could not find evidence that the President did not obstruct. That is tantamount to being guilty before being proven innocent. And Democrat butt-suckers just swallow that shit like mother's milk. Tell you what, now that we have the correct pages post just ONE instance that PROVES Trump guilty.

Words do have meaning but some folks don't get that.

When I spent years in the church I didn't ask everyone else to read scripture for me; I took the initiative to do it myself.

A similar lesson could be learned concerning any other text.

Try it some time.

And yet....you do not know what it says....go figure.

I read the report, Barr read the report and many others. So far you and the Democrats seem to be the ONLY ones with certainty that Trump is guilty of obstruction. Funny though, not one of you has any real proof. You post a link to the report and make that claim, I challenge you to post just one thing that proves Trump's guilt and this is the trash I get back from you. Frankly I think YOU never read the report. Oh yeah and your 'funny faces' are a lame reply.

The Last Temptation - The Atlantic - Pocket

One of the most extraordinary things about our current politics—really, one of the most extraordinary developments of recent political history—is the loyal adherence of religious conservatives to Donald Trump. The president won four-fifths of the votes of white evangelical Christians. This was a higher level of support than either Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush, an outspoken evangelical himself, ever received.

Trump’s background and beliefs could hardly be more incompatible with traditional Christian models of life and leadership. Trump’s past political stances (he once supported the right to partial-birth abortion), his character (he has bragged about sexually assaulting women), and even his language (he introduced the words pussy and shithole into presidential discourse) would more naturally lead religious conservatives toward exorcism than alliance. This is a man who has cruelly publicized his infidelities, made disturbing sexual comments about his elder daughter, and boasted about the size of his penis on the debate stage. His lawyer reportedly arranged a $130,000 payment to a porn star to dissuade her from disclosing an alleged affair. Yet religious conservatives who once blanched at PG-13 public standards now yawn at such NC-17 maneuvers. We are a long way from The Book of Virtues.

In January, following reports that Trump had referred to Haiti and African nations as “shithole countries,” Pastor Robert Jeffress came quickly to his defense. “Apart from the vocabulary attributed to him,” Jeffress wrote, “President Trump is right on target in his sentiment.” After reports emerged that Trump’s lawyer paid hush money to the porn star Stormy Daniels to cover up their alleged sexual encounter, Graham vouched for Trump’s “concern for Christian values.” Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, argued that Trump should be given a “mulligan” for his past infidelity. One can only imagine the explosion of outrage if President Barack Obama had been credibly accused of similar offenses.

The moral convictions of many evangelical leaders have become a function of their partisan identification. This is not mere gullibility; it is utter corruption. Blinded by political tribalism and hatred for their political opponents, these leaders can’t see how they are undermining the causes to which they once dedicated their lives. Little remains of a distinctly Christian public witness.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The GOP, the party that claimed Jesus for themselves & for a nation, have now ultimately defiled Christianity & Jesus, relegating their claimed 'savior' to nothing more than a political tool in their efforts to attain & retain political power.

And Jesus said to the evangelicals, "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

They should have voted for Bitchlary?

I think the premise of the article attached in the OP is about how the GOP has perverted religion, or more specifically Christianity, to attain & maintain political power in the US.

I'm not so sure it has any other overriding message but hey ..........

No, it is now and has always been an attempt to shame Christians into not voting at all.
It is now and has always been an illegitimate attack based on a complete lack of knowledge.

This is it, right here. The liberals want Christians just to disappear from the political scene and let them run it.

That's why they are fighting Trump even on things they themselves supported for a hundred generations like the border wall and immigration compliance. They want to frustrate Christians to just give up on running this nation so they can do it unimpeded.

Here some real choice passages from CADDO's PDF link;

"During the 2016 campaign, the media raised questions about a possible connection between the Trump Campaign and Russia.7 "

The media?

"Democratic Party emails that were reported to have been hacked by Russia."

"were reported?"

"On June 16, 2015, Donald J. Trump declared his intent to seek nomination as the Republican candidate for President.9 By early 2016, he distinguished himself among Republican candidates by speaking of closer ties with Russia, 10 saying he would get along well with Russian President Vladimir Putin, 11 questioning whether the NATO alliance was obsolete, 12 and praising Putin as a "strong leader."13 The press reported that Russian political analysts and commentators perceived Trump as favorable.to Russia."

Well there is proof positive of Trump obstructing justice!! :10:

"On June 14, 2016, a cybersecurity firm that had conducted in-house analysis for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) posted an announcement that Russian government hackers had infiltrated the DNC's computer and obtained access to documents"

Through Hillary's illegal server no doubt.

"On July 22, 2016, the day before the Democratic National Convention, WikiLeaks posted thousands of hacked DNC documents revealing sensitive internal deliberations.20 Soon thereafter, Hillary Clinton's campaign manager publicly contended that Russia had hacked the DNC emails and arranged their release in order to help candidate Trump"

Sorry but 'because Hillary said so' is not proof of Trump's obstructing justice.

Thanks CADDO KID...I've never laughed so hard!!! :auiqs.jpg:

The same people who whine that Christians support politicians that the whiners do not like would scream bloody murder and poop themselves if the same Christians demanded that every politician be vetted by the church before receiving any support from the Christians.

It is amusing to see non-Christians trying to tell Christians for whom they should vote.

Did you bother reading the article? It says much more about those that claim to be Christian in America, and how these people have used the concepts of 'religion' and 'Christianity' to manipulate & use others for political gain.
That is about as shameful as it gets, IMO. 'Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing' certainly comes to mind.

I see those as well as those who use Christianity as a weapon against people of faith. God is bigger than politics.

They're called dominionists. The Christian version of ISIS.

Under Trump, Christian nationalists are playing to win

Wow, beheadings, taking over cities and areas, killing people that oppose them, this is happening today? Got a link?
Thank goodness our secular Constitution has protected us from that so far.

Lol! The there isn’t , hasn’t , and won’t be, it is all contrived in the left wing nut mind set. Just another fear the left tries to perpetuate.

None of these other people were someone Evangelicals could support? 2016 Republican Party presidential candidates - Wikipedia

The GOP evangelicals made a choice; they chose power over their own faith aka they denied Jesus.

they will go to Hell for that

Here's the problem with your condemnation of our Evangelical Friends- you aren't a member of the evangelical Christian faith, so you have no cachet with them. It would be like me going to Mecca and telling the whirling dervishes that they aren't proper Muslims because they aren't on the corner selling incense and newsletters like "proper Muslims". I just don't have the standing to tell them that.

BTW, would you say the same about Democrat Evangelicals who chose power by voting for Hillary over their own faith?

I was raised in the SBC & then I went on to the COC later. Back in the day there was no 'bastardization' of Christianity by the GOP perverting 'faith' as a poster child for politics as there has been over the past 3 to 4 decades.

The GOP's use of Christianity for a political tool is IMO an unpardonable sin.

Those within the churches that played along with this usurpation of their own faith sold themselves to a political entity over their own other worldly treasure.
This is really the first President where religion has played a vocal role, that I remember anyway. A person's religion, including the President's, is a personal thing and except for JFK being a Catholic (which I was too young to recall, myself) I don't think a big group of any denomination has come out for this candidate or that, have they? At least not officially.

Jimmy Carter made a big deal about his Secular Humanist faith, and indeed, if you are in Sumter County on Sunday Morning you can hear him teach sunday school
And he's not a hypocrite about it. You just proved that it's not the christian religion, it's how hypocritical one is about it.

How do you know if Jimmy Carter is hypocritical or not? He certainly seems hypocritical to me- the way he picked Lester Maddox for lt. gov., a man who chased blacks out of his restaurant with an ax handle if they wanted to use the rest room. Also, the way he allowed the Ayatollah to go tot Tehran to take over, and the way he gave away our Canal in Panama.

Donald J. Trump isn't a frequent church goer, but he never pretended to be. He spent a lot of time away from his humble homestead in New York even before he become President. He owns a gigantic jet with his name in giant letters painted on it. Expecting that he would always be in New York to teach Sunday School each week is just unrealistic.

But that was puzzles me about the pastors at Marble Collegiate, where Trump belongs. They tried to belittle his religious fervor. If they had been smart, they would be playing up the fact that the Trumps are members, and try to sign members of the Trump family to teach Sunday School to help gin up attendance.

You know there are Democrats who are also Christian but you never see any liberals questioning their faith when they vote for a candidate who has less than upstanding morale character. If you want to question people's faith over who they vote for maybe you should question everyone's not just conservative Christians.
You will never hear me ridiculing someone's personal faith. I only care when some politician or religious leader starts thinking I have too much personal freedom and there ought to be a law.
Kind of like when someone doesn't want to be forced to celebrate a gay "marriage".

Haha...you poor ass bangers long for the days when Republicans sat in their corner, pretending shit wasn’t happening, reading their Bibles while you filthy fucks trashed their nation don’t you?
I get ya...I’d hate this new-age Republican if I were you too...these badasses will punch you square in your dirty fucking mouth and that sucks for you filthy, degenerate lowlife trash.

Thank you for being Exhibit A. Your beautiful language and demonstration of Christian kindness are underwhelming.

that guy is a fucking ass hole in sheep's clothing ....... but hey; let's mix US some politics & religion

It’s funny how filthy, disgusting degenerates hate Christianity as it establishes boundaries, decency, moral standards and keeps a society honest...All things the filthy fucks on the Left hate as they seek some weird free for all LibTardia where anything goes.
It’s almost as if you lowlife pukes don’t know this nation was framed and built on Christian principles.

So, you obviously did not read the article.

You sit there behind your keyboard, an 'arm chair Christian' and proceed to preach to US about "decency, moral standards" and keeping society "honest" when Evangelicals helped to elect a moral pervert & a liar.

I guess you want your cake & to eat it too? LOFL

If you represent what is Christian in America then your faith, if you ever had an ounce, is deader than Hell.
And should Evangelicals vote as a bloc and demand that any candidate that wants their support has to be vetted by the church?

The problem isn't "evangelicals" anyhow, is small town and rural people.

If you look at a map of Pennsylvania or Ohio or West Virginia, it really make any difference whether a county is overwhelmingly evangelical or if it has a large Roman Catholic population or other Honky Minority. They all went for The Donald big time. The lib complaints about "evangelicals" is just a way for libs to denounce Almighty God.

Like they did in the convention where they booed the Creator of the Universe.

Ok, first of all, the size of the population has grown
Secondly, the shit we’re seeing in society wasn’t so then
Furthermore, the fact that Hispanics vote Democratic
supports the argument for why Democrats want an open border
and why there is a problem with illegals in this country

Further still, how is there ANY statistical information available?

Oh please, people that identify as Republicans
aren’t the only ones that are believers

Worry about what Jesus is going to tell you

Oh yes; right. Keep lying to yourself about that.

A similar lesson could be learned concerning any other text.

well, I have read the (Mueller) report several times over, just as I have read the scriptures more times than I care to recall.

But you go ahead & play your little games; that's fine, too.

Little remains of a distinctly Christian public witness.

If you desire some 'political Satan' to represent Christ & Christianity in your politics then Trump is your guy.

If you want to be HONEST about politics in America then take religion & Christianity OUT of your fake shit & make politics about politics.

What do you not get about that?

And should Evangelicals vote as a bloc and demand that any candidate that wants their support has to be vetted by the church?

well, I suppose if you desire to pervert politics with religion, or if you desire to pervert religion with politics, then that is the way U wanna go.

But that is U; not me............

There are political issues that have a moral component. Things like Gay Marriage and Abortion, freedom of religion, the right to pray, the right not to violate one's conscience.

Should a surgeon be FORCED to commit an abortion? Or do a Sex Change, if it is against their religion? Libs say "sure". Deplorables say no.

They've made their priorities pretty clear, that's for sure, and the Big Fella doesn't appear to be #1.

Yeah ... Progressives and Democrats calling open season on Christians probably had nothing to do with it ya fucking retard.
