How do you know if Jimmy Carter is hypocritical or not? He certainly seems hypocritical to me- the way he picked Lester Maddox for lt. gov., a man who chased blacks out of his restaurant with an ax handle if they wanted to use the rest room. Donald J. Trump isn't a frequent church goer, but he never pretended to be. He spent a lot of time away from his humble homestead in New York even before he become President. He owns a gigantic jet with his name in giant letters painted on it. Expecting that he would always be in New York to teach Sunday School each week is just unrealistic.

But that was puzzles me about the pastors at Marble Collegiate, where Trump belongs. They tried to belittle his religious fervor. There are political issues that have a moral component. Things like Gay Marriage and Abortion, freedom of religion, the right to pray, the right not to violate one's conscience.
