I read that if anyone leaked it that would be a conservative justice staffer who believes overturning Roe would do more harm to SCOTUS and especially this country.

A conservative didn't leak it because of the direction of the planning. Posters had already been printed and distributed. Banners had been printed and distributed. Hundreds of people, democrats, communists, already knew. They were prepared and took their positions as soon as politico made the formal announcement. As far as the decision goes. I haven't had the chance to read whatever it was that caused the justices to reach their decision. It SHOULD be based on constitutionality more than the personal opinions of the Justices as to wether they believe certain aspects of abortion are right or wrong. The decision does not outlaw abortion, so get that part straight. It would leave it up to the states and if the people in those states do not like the state policy, then they can respond by voting out state reps they don't like. This is the way it's supposed to work. It ends up giving more power to the people.

Sure it does. Sooner gives them more time to rile up the base. Leaking now gives them more time to possibly change the eventual outcome. Leaking now takes attention off the skyrocketing inflation, the border crisis, biden/harris gaffes. It also buries the results of trump-backed politicians who are consistently winning.
