Fatal firearms accidents dropped by more than two thirds, from 2,900 to less than 600. And that rate is still dropping. Of course, the Eddie Eagle program is not the NRA’s first rodeo.

The chart starts in 1900, when 75 million Americans buried an estimated 2,700 victims of a firearms accident. In cooperation with State Rifle and Pistol Associations, the NRA kept the rate and number of firearms fatalities down, even as the population grew rapidly. In 1960, 180 million of us lost 3,200 Americans to firearms fatalities. And the gross number of fatalities was about the same, although increasing population drove the accidental firearms death rates down.

The blog post discusses how accidental gun deaths have declined each year and part of the solution is the NRA gun safety training...since accidental gun detest hurts the fight to keep our right to keep and bear arms...it only makes sense....while,the anti gunners....for all their bitching and whining about guns have,done little to actually save,lives....

One can look at the right wing , racist NRA leadership to know they are harming more people than they help. The NRA leadership -- Ollie North, John Bolton, Grover Norquist, Teddy Nugent, Big Racist Jim Porter, gun profiteers, etc. -- are pushing and lobbying for more than just gunz.
