The anti-gun folks did have an assault weapons ban for a decade or so but it really didn’t ban anything and actually increased the sale of black semiautomatic rifles. Make anything illegal and suddenly people want it.

Getting a law passed to ban such weapons is only the first step. Many people already lack trust in our government for good reason and they will avoid turning in their suddenly illegal weapons because liberals feel that doing so will totally eliminate mass murders.

How do you plan to collect these weapons?

Great, then the governor just created a new source of revenue for gangs who will smuggle in guns at black market value. The law abiding people who will NOT buy these guns or turn theirs in, were not planning on going out and committing crimes anyway with those guns.

You could ban these rifles in the entire United States, but our government's inability to close down the border will ensure sophisticated drug cartels will still smuggle in assault weapons to their gangs here in the U.S.
The odd man out will be law abiding American citizens who just want to protect themselves, or collect guns, ..which is not a crime or threat.

Seems 3 high profile murders in todays news were committed with knives 4 idaho students, MA Mom (no body yet but lots of evidence) and Florida couple in their 80's.

Soon it will be "ban knives" and then ban razor blades...and forks....and scissors......already talking about banning gas stoves

So in time we will be a bunch of hairy people eating meat off a fire pit and not able to use knives or forks so ripping the meat with our teeth.
