What are these things..................

bigderp thinks those are the things you put on your coffee cup so you don't burn your hands.

Our timeline covers the following deadlines and their associated responsibilities:
  • Dec. 1, 2013 — Employers train workers on new labels and MSDS formats

  • June 1, 2015 — Chemical manufacturers reclassify chemicals and update labels & MSDSs

  • Dec. 1, 2015 — Distributors no longer ship chemicals labeled under old HazCom Standard

  • June 1, 2016 — Employers fully compliant with GHS

Quick question MSDS are changing to what in 2016? And will be governed by whom?

Don't know and don't fing care........Material Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals we will be dealing with are available to us at any time. All we have to do is ask for a copy and it will be provided.....on hazardous jobs we are required to have a training session for the job, to explain to all who will possibly be in contact with the material.........The hazards and PPE are explained.
Your safety manager hasn't told you that there will no longer be an MSDS after 2016? The material changes everything. The placards will no longer be of use to you. It changes to about 10 pages from 2

We haven't been informed they are changing the format............I don't see any reason to change it anyway as the chemicals are still the same as are the dangers and PPE..............Someone who pushed for this change will be getting his or her Palm greased for the change............The chemicals in the process do not train whether it be 2 pages or 10..........The same precautions will apply when breaking toxic lines, or potential acid splash, or deadly Hydrogen Sulfide, or Benzene, etc....................

It changes nothing but the format and forces the industry to buy a lot of new material and placards.........As I already said, this is about greasing palms and nothing more.........Reality hasn't changed. Only the format and cost increases have changed.
From MSDS to SDS GHS Brings Big Changes to Safety Data Sheets in HazCom 2012

Informative, but changes nothing. It only increases costs to conform to the standard so the people making the products make money.

Any liberal posting in this thread should be forced to care for and take in EBOLA patients being they support that certified IDIOT Barack Obola who allowed EBOLA in to this country and still refuses to protect Americans.

Your silliness is duly recorded. Many liberals are married to conservatives. How do you think that would go over at the breakfast table every morning?
Now, instead of poking a finger in Obama's direction why not consider the Congress : Republican or Democrat. They could enact legislation that would virtually force the chief executives to act. For instance, how much effort would it take to pass a bill unanimously to restrict entrance into the USA by people who have travel from infected countries. Of course, such actions are going to cost money, so, I can see why Obama is reluctant to take this matter into his own hands by evoking national security executive powers. I think the Republicans and the right wing antagonists have some impact on his decision making in just about everything he ponders. he probably doesn't want to be blamed for increasing the debt. That may be required by this action.

Lawmakers Seek US Ban on Travelers From Ebola-Stricken Region - ABC News

Boehner joins lawmakers including Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., in calling for a travel ban.

"Banning flights from the afflicted countries is a prudent, common-sense step until the epidemic is brought under control," Cruz wrote in an op-ed Wednesday.

The travel ban is also being floated on the campaign trail by Republican Senate candidates, including Joni Ernst in Iowa and David Perdue in Georgia.

While most of the calls for travel ban are coming from the Republican side, a small group of Democrats, including Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., and Rep. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., have called for the restrictions.

The White House has said it is not currently considering placing restrictions on travelers from West African countries.

House Republican to introduce Ebola travel ban legislation TheHill

Rep. Dennis Ross (R-Fla.) said Thursday that he will introduce legislation to ban travel between the U.S. and West African countries afflicted by the Ebola outbreak.

Ross plans to unveil the bill when Congress comes back in session, which is expected to be on Nov. 12, after the midterm elections.

The measure would restrict granting visas to people departing from any country where the Ebola outbreak has reached "epidemic proportions." Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea have been hardest hit by the disease.

The ban would only be lifted when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) declares that the Ebola outbreak has been contained.

You will still have to be tested and to in sure that you know the information

Which means upgrades to Safety Council Training and site specific training.......Another boring class to say some retard has decided to change the whole dang thing. HEE HAW...........and so everyone gets to change all their placards to comply. Again, it is only to grease someone palms.........Someone is getting to make some money off the change and nothing more.

There is something out of place with how the CDC transported this women.

The patient is in a containment suit. The medical staff that will go with the patient are in containment suits. The person not in the containment suit is a protocol person, there to insure there are no trip hazards or other issues due to the suits. There will be one like that on the other end of the trip as well.

Why is that a problem?
Because it's something they can run around screaming about. Now...if that person get's Ebola, it would be something. But what if he doesn't?

If he doesn't get infected - he's a born again Christian living holy unto the LORD and is covered by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

If you do not believe God can protect His Own you're in for a rude awakening, Bodecea! God knows how to keep His Own Children who are obedient unto Jesus! That is the truth!
One of the nurses that got Ebola is a Catholic. Did God smite her because she wasn't a born again?

Yeah, let`s listen to a bunch of redneck swampdwellers. I am sure they know more about medical science than actual professionals.

Fucking ridicilous!
My guess is I had more NBC training than any of them

I had NBC training as well. That is a very different situation. In an NBC attack, the entire outside area would be considered contaminated. That is not the case here. There is no Ebola on the tarmac. It is contained in the patient's suit.

Just asking, if so then why is everyone else wearing a suit?

You would think he should be in base level PPE, a mask, a disposable tyvek, and some gloves. He doesn't have to be in the Level C suit the rest of them are wearing, but he should have something.

This is exactly how government run health care will be handled. Like a clown car.

Ain't it grand?

This mess got started by a private hospital in one of the dumbest places in America: Texas, not the CDC.

And my Obamacare since this January has been terrific.

This mess got started because Thomas Duncan lied to the airlines about having had contact with someone with ebola and he lied to the hospital about having had contact with someone with ebola. The hospital had no protocol to follow when taking off their protective gear, called the CDC for help, CDC looked up online what to do, CDC told the second nurse "sure, go ahead, get on that plane. No worries that you've had extensive exposure to ebola and are running a 99.5 fever".

Yeah, you go right ahead and blame the private hospital. Moron.

For God's sake, common sense says he should have that on. Irrelevant the patient is in a containment suit, clipboard guy should take precautions. Dumb move.

Why do you ignorant people post? He is there to be their eyes and ears moron. How is he going to do that in a suit?

So he can't see or hear if he has some protective gear on? You going with that?

Its obvious you have no clue about the protocol or what happens when you have on one of those suits. You should stop embarrassing yourself right about now.
