A "process crime" is a crime discovered during an investigation, or PROCESS, that has nothing to do with the original investigation. It was only discovered because of the investigation into the other crimes.

Like an investigation into Trump Russia collusion discovering tax evasion by someone who is not related to Trump at all. Just a business associate. Tax evasion had NOTHING to do with the original crime. Has nothing to do with Trump/Russia collusion. The discovery of this crime has NO BEARING on whether Trump is guilty of anything.
