Hate to tell you, but for a refugee family to be allowed here, they go through 18 to 24 months of interviews and checks before being allowed to travel here. 2 years of vetting before entering the country is a pretty fair amount.

They had specifically taken donations from their temple to set this family up. I'm guessing they do other charity work as well, and probably have some kind of food distribution set up for the needy.

As far as the 2 years of vetting? Yeah, that is how long it takes for a refugee to make it from over there to here.

As far as the San Bernadino shooter? She came in this country on a MARRIAGE VISA, not refugee status. If you want to know where the vetting problems are, it's not with the refugees, it's with the people who come here LEGALLY under a visa. It's how the San Bernadino wife got here, and it's also how the 9/11 attackers got here. And, they did it LEGALLY.

If you really want to fix the system, don't focus on the refugees as much, and start focusing on the visas that we issue.
