Let's no get out of hand here. There are Conservatives, I would argue principled Libertarian values and then there are fascist, far right extremist values. The world does not need fascism or socialism. They don't need closed borders, they need principled, responsible immigration. They need responsible trade not exploitation from other state run economies. We have gone so far off course to the left that much of this is the pendulum swinging back, it has to swing back wisely this time, not swing to the other far side as the left has of late.
I don't know much about the elections in France, and I can't even say if "conservatism" in Europe is defined in the same manner as it is in America. For instance, we had a conservative government in Canada that I thought would be more libertarian, individual focused with strong accountability of government in place, it became anything but, especially in their second term. The world needs less of these types of fake conservative governments. They are an insult. It has become abundantly clear to me after following politics the last couple of years that Canadian conservative values are not the same as American. There is very little small government, maximum individual rights in Canadian conservatism that American conservatives and libertarians believe in. I sense Europe is similar in regard to these differences.
My worry is that some in France also shares some of these so-called conservative values that Canadian conservatives believe in, which really are not conservative values. Yes, a strong defense, strong policing and security. This has to be coupled with strong justice and legal processes. Strong mechanisms of accountability, transparency and small government. If the leader in France is just a one trick pony, it won't be good for anyone.
Without a doubt though, the far left, of which FAR too many have casually embraced communist and socialist values; is going to replaced with a renowned sense of conservatism around the globe in developed countries. It simply has to be done right. This is where Trump and dare I say important libertarian members of the GOP have to influence American policy especially domestically. Other nations look to America as that beacon of the best democracy the world has to offer. I still am convinced, Trump has a great deal of libertarianism in his philosophies, a lifetime of being a competitive, successful, thriving businessman has guided him there. This has given me hope, as long as he keeps his promises the America AND the world will be much better off.
Sorry for the length. I type too fast, and think faster lol.

No surprise, Trump supports Le Pen, as does Putin.
Trump wades into French elections
Two days before a French election that has Europe on edge, President Donald Trump weighed in Friday with a tweet that seemed to imply support for the controversial far-right populist Marine Le Pen.
Trump’s Friday morning tweet responded to a shooting the day before on Paris’s Champs Elysees that outgoing French President Francois Hollande called a likely act of terrorism.
"Another terrorist attack in Paris. The people of France will not take much more of this. Will have a big effect on presidential election!” Trump wrote.
A contender for France’s presidency, Le Pen has made the terrorist threat— particularly from Muslim immigrants to France—a top campaign issues.

That's not very Bush92-like of you. Toronto get's along fairly well in regards to our citizens and we haven't had great immigration problems, though I believe we have often been short sighted in regards to understanding immigration need. Our diversity is our strength. We don't have the same terror issues other countries in Europe have.
Our problem is a different one, we have an unaccountable police apparatus and feckless government. Our slide out of global influence was set on course some time ago when we refused to embrace American business and social values.
