Trump's Present and Future possible indictments

BREAKING: Special Counsel Jack Smith scores a MASSIVE win as Donald Trump slips up at today’s Meet the Press interview incriminates himself by taking full responsibility for the Big Lie after the host bravely forces him to answer her brilliant question.

It all started when host Kristen Welker asked Trump whether he was listening to his lawyers or his “own instincts” when he decided to cook up his Big Lie that he is now facing multiple federal felony charges over.

At this point, Trump sensed danger, so he tried to pivot to bragging about the “many numerous books” that have “been written about how the election was rigged."

At this point, the host went for the jugular, cutting Trump off and asking, “But where you calling the shots?

”Trump tried ignoring her, once again launching back into his rant about the “many books” that back his Big Lie.

Undaunted, host Kristen Welker didn’t back down, again cutting Trump off and asking, “Were YOU calling the shots though?

”At this point, Trump became visibly upset and snapped back, “Excuse me!” before AGAIN shamelessly going back to rambling about the Big Lie books.

Unfortunately for Trump, Welker wasn’t about to let him get away with it, and she again looked Trump dead in the face and asked, “But where YOU calling the shots though, Mr President!?

”At this point, Trump had no choice but the mumble nervously, “Ughhh… as to whether or not I believed that the election was rigged? Sure! It was MY decision!

There you have it, folks — and straight from the horse’s mouth. Special Counsel Jack Smith just got even more incriminating evidence to show Judge Chutkan — nothing less than Trump himself admitting that he was the one “calling the shots” in his Big Lie conspiracy to steal Biden’s win.

Trump is TOAST.

Please retweet and if you think that Trump MUST be found guilty — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a “woke” new Twitter competitor that is exploding in popularity because it banned Trump for life and because Elon Musk banned Tribel’s Twitter account — but he forgot to ban this link to download the new Tribel app: http://tribel.app.link/okwPIHYCIqb

On Monday, former Assistant Attorney General for DOJ’s Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD), Jeff Clark, will get a hearing on his motion to remove his prosecution from state court in Georgia to federal court. As you can see from a quick look at ENRD’s website, that Division at DOJ has absolutely nothing to do with elections or voting fraud. Instead, Clark will likely argue that he is charged with conduct he carried out as part of his official duties stemming from his role as the acting head of the Civil Division at the end of the Trump administration.

A reminder: Clark must show he was carrying out official duties when he engaged in the conduct he is charged with to be entitled to remove his case from state to federal court.

Clark became the acting head of the Civil Division in September of 2020. Fulton County DA Fani Willis has subpoenaed his predecessor, Jody Hunt, to testify. Most likely, that’s because Willis intends to elicit testimony from Hunt to establish that the head of DOJ’s Civil Division does not, as part of his official duties, have authority to feed bogus information to states about voting fraud. Nor can he negotiate side deals with the president to take over the Justice Department in order to push a false voter fraud narrative.

Here’s what DOJ’s website says about the Civil Division’s authority: “The…Civil Division represents the United States, its departments and agencies, Members of Congress, Cabinet Officers, and other federal employees in any civil or criminal matter within its scope of responsibility. The Civil Division’s responsibilities include defending against challenges to federal programs; ensuring the Federal Government speaks with one voice in its view of the law; preserving the intent of Congress; advancing the credibility of the government before the courts; and protecting the public fisc (the U.S. Treasury).” As you can see, its mission does not include declaring elections fraudulent. Nor does the listing of program areas the Civil Division works with aid Clark’s argument.

Narrator: “trump was, in fact, given 18 months notice prior to his raid.”

Jack E. Smith

Also, it wasn’t a raid. It was a search based on a legal warrant. Authorized by a federal judge. He was notified via his attorneys, who were also present during the search. He viewed it live on CCTV.

[ Donald Trump is very much aware that the FBI executed a search warrant on Senator Menendez, the same way it did with Donald Trump's search at Mar A Lago. But...... ]

Donald Trump has demanded that “all” Senate Democrats resign over the bribery scandal facing Senator Bob Menendez – despite pushing ahead with his own 2024 ambitions while facing the prospect of the rest of his life behind bars.

In a Truth Social rant on Sunday, the indicted former president weighed in on the federal criminal case against the New Jersey lawmaker and called on the entire Democratic party to stand down from the Senate over the scandal.

“Senate Democrats should all resign based on Senator Bob Menendez! They all knew what was going on, and the way he lived,” he ranted.

Mr Trump also went on to falsely suggest that he had been treated unfairly compared to Mr Menendez, questioning why the FBI didn’t raid the senator’s home “like they illegally raided Mar-a-Lago”.

Mr Trump appears to be unaware that the FBI executed a search warrant at the home Mr Menendez shares with his wife Nadine Menendez in June 2022 – a search that uncovered bars of gold, over $480,000 in cash and a luxury convertible now used as evidence in the case against him.

Engoron wrote that the documents uncovered in the case “clearly contain fraudulent valuations that defendants used in business,” and none of Trump’s defenses hold up, including his claim that he could always find a “buyer from Saudi Arabia” for one property or that measuring square footage is a “subjective process.”

The judge pointed to several Trump properties that were overvalued, including Mar-A-Lago, a building on Park Avenue, an estate in Westchester County and his penthouse in Trump Tower—which had an inflated square footage even after Forbes asked him about the exaggeration, Engoron notes.

As a result, Engoron canceled several of Trump’s business certificates and ordered the dissolution of Trump-related LLCs.

Engoron also sanctioned several of Trump’s attorneys $7,500 for making arguments the court had repeatedly rejected.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR:

The trial against Trump and his business allies is set to begin on Monday and run until December, though that date remains slightly up in the air. An appeals court temporarily delayed the trial earlier this month amid a lawsuit between Trump and the judge—the appellate judges will hear arguments this week, and could let the trial proceed as scheduled. While Engoron already ruled on part of the case by finding Trump and his co-defendants guilty of fraud, the trial will still go forward on other allegations—such as falsifying business records, financial statements and committing insurance fraud—as well as determining whether there was intent to commit fraud and the damages Trump and his co-defendants will face.

WHAT WE DON’T KNOW:

What punishments Trump and his business could face at trial. James’ lawsuit asks the court to impose a range of penalties on the defendants, including barring Trump from engaging in any commercial real estate acquisitions for five years, blocking him and his children from serving as officers or directors in any New York business and forcing the defendants to pay an approximately $250 million fine.

BIG NUMBER:

$3.6 billion. That’s how much Trump inflated his net worth by overstating the value of his assets on financial documents, James alleged in court filings, calling the number a “conservative” estimate. The AG alleges Trump used the exaggerated assets to inflate his net worth by between $1.9 billion and $3.6 billion per year between 2011 and 2021, including by misstating the value of his properties at Trump Tower and Mar-A-Lago in Florida, which the lawsuit alleges Trump valued as a private residence instead of a social club.

CHIEF CRITIC:

Trump’s attorneys argued in court that the ex-president didn’t fraudulently overstate the value of his assets, but rather claimed the valuations were accurate based on Trump’s “perspective [as] a creative and visionary real estate developer who sees the potential and value of properties that others do not.” Trump attorney Christopher Kise argued at a hearing Friday: “The case comes down to prosecuting the defendants for engaging in successful business transactions.”

FORBES VALUATION:

$2.5 billion. That’s Trump’s estimated net worth, according to Forbes’ real-time tracker. Forbes has exposed previous Trump efforts to misstate the size and value of his real estate properties, including exaggerating the size of his Manhattan penthouse, which was cited in James’ lawsuit.

KEY BACKGROUND:

James sued Trump, his company and his business associates in September 2022, following a years-long investigation that began in March 2019. Trump was deposed as part of the investigation, though he refused to answer questions and invoked his Fifth Amendment rights, after being held in contempt of court for not complying with the subpoena. Since James filed the lawsuit, the AG has notched a win in court as Engoron appointed an independent monitor to oversee the Trump Organization’s activities, though an appeals court also dismissed James’ claims against Ivanka Trump in the case and forced Engoron to narrow the case. The Trump Organization has separately been found guilty of tax fraudin a different case brought by the Manhattan district attorney, in which the company was ordered to pay $1.6 million for a scheme in which executives were paid through personal expenses that weren’t taxed, such as private school tuition, apartments and car leases.

In the fall of 2020 when it looked like the election was going to be very close, I warned that Donald would do anything—including burning it all down—to make sure he wouldn’t have to relinquish power. I also said that, if at any point he felt like he was going down, he would take all of us down with him. He’s a nihilist, a malignant narcissist who literally can’t believe the world would dare continue to exist without him. My grandfather, a sociopath of the highest order, believed in his legacy. Donald believes in nothing beyond himself. If he ceases to exist, everything else should, too.

If his threats against those who thwart him, or those who don’t support, or even the powerless against whom he believes he can score points leads people to think he’s increasingly “deranged” or out-of-control, remember this: On May 1, 1989 Donald took out full-page ads in four of New York City’s major newspapers (The New York Times, The Daily News, The New York Post, and New York Newsday) in which he called for the execution of five innocent boys: Antron McCray (15), Kevin Richardson (14), Yusef Salaam (15), Raymond Santana (14), and Korey Wise (16).

The Exonerated Five have always been innocent. Donald has always been vile and cruel; he’s always been master of the art of beating up on those who can’t fight back. I know that better than just about anyone.

The thing is, though, it’s not his strength that makes him dangerous, it’s his weakness along with his unconscious sense that he is a loser who can only “win” if he lies, cheats, and steals. He believes that being a “winner" is an absolutely necessary condition of his existence which partially explains why he threatens to burn it all down if he doesn’t get his way. The problem is, a significant minority of Americans, in conjunction with almost 100% of elected Republicans, seem determined to put him in a position to do just that.

Is he getting worse? I don’t know. If he seems to be it’s because he’s in greater danger, legally and financially—even existentially—than he’s ever been before; there is more at stake (including his freedom and his wealth) than there ever has been.

But as every outrageous, fascistic, violent outburst goes unchallenged by the media and ignored by the Republican party, the chances increase that Donald’s stochastic terrorism will find a target who will be more than happy to commit political violence on his behalf.

I hope yesterday’s decision by Judge Engoron in New York (which, according to Joyce Vance, is the equivalent of New York's corporate death penalty) will prove something of a tipping point. It’s far past time all of the evidence against Donald and his decades-long crime spree reaches critical mass.
