It is, in itself, trivial and worth maybe ten minutes of attention. That's not really the point though.
This is as noted before a story about psychology. Removed entirely from Melania and Michelle, the psychology of blind sheep wallowing in denial and self-delusion when plain fact is laid right in front of them. In this venue the partisan posters inhabiting this board, but in the bigger picture the campaign itself that went into full denial mode, even blaming it on a candidate in a completely different political party --- and then today an admission comes from a staffer and they STILL fail to take responsibility.

That failure says much more than a few nicked paragraphs --- it reflects the attitude of the candidate himself, who has made a career of never ever taking any shred of responsibility for anything at all. He becomes the spiritual head of that dynamic, so while this episode may be in itself little, it becomes a YUUUUGE symbol of exactly what's wrong with its candidate.
