The treaty specifically forbid any alliances hostile to Russia.
Accepting US weapons intended to harm Russia then is an illegal violation of the treaty.

The Crimea is not and never was sovereign Ukrainian territory because it was always inhabited by ethnic Russians, who had the superior right of local autonomy.
Go look it up.
In 1954, the Crimea was part of Russia, not the Ukraine.
