US implements socialism for 80 years, China gets rid of it for 30, China leaps ahead

Chinese students paying to get into U.S. high schools | Nation & World

This is what's hilarious. The Chinese sending their children to go to HIGH School here. Not college, but HIGH School and Republicans think American schools are centers for indoctrination.

I bet you won't see those kids going to school in "Petticoat Junction". Nope, they will be in "liberal" states learning "stuff". "Stuff" Republicans are against. Like learning "critical thinking skills".

It was as inevitable as water flowing downhill and reaching the bottom.

The U.S. went into high gear in its efforts to put socialism in place in the 1930s, and have kept it up (with a few temporary reverses) to the present day.

China did the same from the 1940s thru the 1970s... but then reversed the trend in the 1980s and onward, and started freeing its people to make their own decisions, run their own businesses, and take responsibility for their own actions.

And now China is on the verge of surpassing the U.S. as the leading economy of the world.

A report out of the World Bank shows rapidly expanding China is poised to overtake the once invincible United States as the world's largest economy by the end of 2014.

The International Comparison Program looks at exchange rates to reveal purchasing power of different currencies and found that yuan in China will soon pack more punch than the mighty dollar.

Meanwhile, Chinese officials bashed the report as flawed, likely for fear of losing its status as a developing nation and the pollution-spewing perks that come with it.

At what price? The slave labor of their own citizens put China over the top. Not capitolism. What kind of a society does this to their own people?!

Letter In Saks Bag From China - Business Insider

NEW YORK CITY — Stephanie Wilson was reaching for a receipt inside a paper shopping bag from Saks Fifth Avenue when she found a letter pleading, "HELP HELP HELP."

The message, written in blue ink on white lined paper, appeared to be a desperate cry from a man who said he made the bag while being unfairly held in a Chinese prison factory more than 7,000 miles away.

"We are ill-treated and work like slaves for 13 hours every day producing these bags in bulk....... read more on link.

A Godless people.Christianity is growing by leaps and bounds there, though...and as it does, China will continue to improve.

What kind of society subjects its own people to such abuse. My answer should have been a Godless society.

That's not what we were talking about, however.

The question was...how can a society kill off tens of millions of their own people, unnecessarily.

My answer was...a godless society.

China has several religions, although Confucianism is not a religion in the sense of how we thing of religion, but it is highly influential on society as way of life..and

Ancestor Worship
Prayer
Longevity Practices
Divination, Prophecy and Astrology
and Buddhism.

Like the religious wars between Catholics and Protestants?

Last Month: Putin is Great
This Month: The US should be more like China

the American Left idolized Russian leaders for decades. Putin is from the old school of Soviet-style politics; the kind the Left adored until this guy dissed the Left's Messiah

ignorant, history-denying libs on these boards are amusing to watch on these boards!

I have yet to see liberals praise Putin/Russia/China, but the far right, well that's another story.
Secondly, the middle class has suffered flat wages for three decades and we all knew who benefitted from those flat wages. Yet at every turn, the far right bleeds for those who benefitted from flat wages and then turns around and attacks the working class.

Oh, the myth of rightwingers suddenly idolizing commies. It just never gets old.

And the admitted lying propagandist, liewinger, thanks the post.

Natch.

You betcha, skippy. A couple of people who compare obama unfavorably to Putin means Putin's a right wing hero.

I think you underestimate how much we despise Obama and the left.

I wonder how many of we Americans even know what socialism is? We know it's bad, but as someone once said Americans hate the label socialism but love the programs. Can we even agree on a definition of socialism?

If given the choice, would our board rightwingers vote for Putin over Obama?

China is still far more socialist than the US and may always be. In the industrial and service sectors, China owns and operates, not regulates, 30% of the business enterprises and controls or participates in much of the reminder. In the US, enterprises are regulated by the government but relative few are owned and operated by the government. There's a big difference between owning and operating and regulating.

Skippy? No, it's kiwiman. My wife used to call my Skippy because I stuck to the roof of her mouth. Do you know her or something? :smiliehug:
Oh come on KG, you might despise "O" but I bet you have friends that lean left. I have friends from all sides of the aisle, we have get-togethers and the whole thing. Everybody gets along just fine, we just agree to disagree. :eusa_angel:
