The US military is still the most powerful military in the world. No matter how much Obama hatred causes an anti American and anti military fervor, facts are facts and those willing to confront facts can only make one conclusion. That conclusion is that the US military is prepared for and equipped to make quick and definitive shock and awe on Iran at the order of the CiC. Kuwait is like a giant US military base prepared to go to war in Iraq or Iran. In regards to Iran, there are enough offensive assets to cripple Iran until the long range bombers arrive on the scene with hundreds upon hundreds if not thousands of cruise missiles.

Since WWII, US lost in Korea, Nam, Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and got their ass booted in Somalia, Lebanon, Yemen and Libya. Did I leave anyone out?

None of those so called "wars" were lost militarily. The thread is about the US Military. The places and incidents mentioned may or may not have been lost politically, but not militarily. Ever since the congress gave up it's obligation and duty to declare wars and turn the winning of such wars directly over to the CiC as specified in the constitution wars and conflicts have been fought with interference from congress, with congress pulling strings to limit the military in it's purpose to win wars and conflicts through total defeat and surrender of the enemy.

A loss is still a loss no matter how you try to rationalize it.

The problem is that we don't spend nearly enough on our defense. Six hundred billion is just not going to cut it when dealing with an opponent as formidable as Iran. Maybe double or even triple our defense spending so we can buy many more military toys to support our foreign escapades and adventures.

Yes, and everyone's 'Hitler' and the 'Nazis' too. Blah Blah Bah. Heard it all before. It's time for a humble foreign policy. Time to dramatically scale back the meddling and war.

A good start would be disengaging from the Middle East. Obviously we can continue trading and securing good relations, but we need to end our military involvement over there. If the nations of the Middle East wanna make war and kill each other, than so be it. But we don't belong in their lands. Time to come home.

The U.S. relies on China immensely for its own economic prosperity. A major war would hurt both too much. And the idea of countries like China and Russia invading the U.S. is absolutely preposterous. Neither of those nations would be interested in such an impossible undertaking.

I mean, just think about how difficult it was for the most powerful nation on earth to invade and occupy a small weak country like Iraq? Iraq barely had a miitary, yet we struggled there. Russia and China couldn't win a war with the U.S. It's just that simple. And Iran certainly isn't a threat to the U.S. The Warmongers feel they have to prop up various Boogeyman threats to get the People onboard supporting endless war. That's what it's all about in the end.
