Nope, that was a separate party....they walked out of the Democrat con-vention when Douglas was picked and formed their own party, the "Southern Democratic Party".................not the Democratic Party. That was Douglas. the fourth party that year was the "Constitutional Union Party".

The facts are always promoted by those in control to destroy. They made a document with amendments. Back when we were low taxed in the 1950's we had ghettos. It is the 2020's with every program started by Progs they could and spending tens of trillions of dollars and tens of trillions more on social issues. We still have ghettos and many people hooked on a government lifeline in near all areas. Study up on current economic conditions. This is far more important than the past. People can become as ugly as it gets during bade economic times and be led by despots which is something to study from the past.

There is not "spending tens of trillions of dollars" on social issues, and never has been.
About 70% of all federal spending has been the military.
That is not just current military spending, but also the interest on the national debt is all military as well.

The closest thing to any social program is Social Security, but that is entirely self funding, and gets no additional tax money at all. In fact, there usually is a SS surplus that helps fund the national debt.

If you see a pie chart of federal funding that shows SS or national debt interest, that is fake and not the actual federal budget.

The closest we get to any welfare programs is ADC and disability, and both those get their funds from Social Security, not income taxes.

Ghettos are the result of unfair tax breaks to landlords, that owners can't get.
It is unfair landlord competition and redlining that creates ghettos, not the poor people stuck in them.
