Which is worse, amending the Constitution when We The People find it is lacking and going through the amendment process to fix a problem, or simply using the courts to pretend it says X when it clearly says Y, something that has been happening since at least the Slaughterhouse Cases?

Lawyers should be required to interpret the constitution from the stand point that the founders were sane men, a lot of interpretations could only have come from someone less than sane.
