During the anarchism experimentation days of the 1960s-1970s counter-culture movements, the infamous anti-social mayhem murder artist Son of Sam rose to the national spotlight.
Well, today, in our age of consumerism culture (i.e., eTrade, Burger King, etc.) hypnosis, people seem preoccupied with all kinds of 'toys:' iPads, iPhones, Flash Drives, Wireless Headsets, Battery Rechargers, French Fry Makers, etc. In this arena, a new mayhem artist has arisen: the Water Gun Trickster.
While the Water Gun Trickster is not as lethal or ominous as the Son of Sam, he does manage to cause a significant ruckus. The Water Gun Trickster walks around the avenues of Wall Street (New York City, USA) with a discreetly hidden water gun in his hand/pocket, shooting clean water at the shoes of unaware passerby stockbrokers.
The message of this nihilist/anarchist seems to be that modern consumerism advocates have become 'brainwashed' by profiteerism and mindless lackadaisicalness.
Perhaps relevant social art totems such as the nature-academic Hollywood (USA) movie "12 Monkeys" (1995) serve as symbolic antidotes to the mayhem message of this Son-of-Sam-like rabble-rouser the Water Gun Trickster.
