I met a host of musicians and writers over the years. I met Nick Lowe (twice) after his shows. I met English musician extraordinaire Richard Thompson twice. I had the good fortune to meet writer Ray Bradbury twice, at lecture/book signings. I also met that rascal, writer Harlan Ellison, a couple times. These people were all quite soft spoken and humble, except in the case of Mr. Ellison. He was his usual loud self, but EXTREMELY funny.

Question here is....who gushed when they met their particular celebs? I never did. I 86'd Leslie because not only was he drunk, he was throwing billiard balls when he lost a game and was sloppy falling down nasty with his language.

I think I had the most fun with Chuck. He would pull up next to me, or me to him, then race. LOL
Gushing over celebrities is a tourist thing to do. It's tacky.

If he wasn't spewing profanity at the top of his lungs it wasn't really Harlan Ellison. I met him in an elevator at a Science Fiction convention. The elevator was otherwise filled with the vampire club. I could hear this man screaming and cursing. Because Harlan was so short I couldn't see him in the crowd. After the elevator emptied, I saw this tiny man still showering all and sundry with expletives. I shot right back at him. For the next ten minutes we shouted elaborate insults and swear words at one another. Then he abruptly said "so, ya wanna go to lunch or what? "

He was perfectly friendly and willing to sit and chat with me for a few minutes. When we shook hands I was amazed by how hard his hands were. Like shanking hands with a stone statue.

Jokes aside. That is an awesome list.

You met Barbra?
Oh yeah, she was a very lovely lady!

I also forgot to mention Frank Sinatra popped into Falonies Bar while I was there. The owners son would sing all his hit songs many nights & weekends. He was very good drawing big crowds when he performed, so Frank Sinatra had to come see it for himself. Frank enjoyed his portrayal & they sang a few songs together. It was a good time.

I have one that beats everyone. I met banjo boy from deliverance. He was working at Walmart in Mountain City Georgia when I went up for the eclipse. He sold me an autographed picture for five bucks. It's framed on my wall. The eclipse was cool too.

John Schneider is very down to earth and very interactive with his fans. Love him.

Ran into Richard Mulligan at the NM state fair. We were both in an exhibit building looking at the photography and coin collections that won awards. Very nice.

Maxie Anderson went to my cousins church ( met him there) my cousin also used to house sit for him.
