Ever since he explained (several times) that he's never asked God for forgiveness about anything, we know it can't be Christianity, despite his on-the-record assurances to the contrary. If there's one requirement for entering the club of Christianity, it's asking forgiveness for your sins.

The Übermensch will make his life into a work of art, a self-creation, Nietzsche writes, a motto that Trump took to heart, he the empty core surrounded by a façade of reality TV and branding deals.

People have turned to heretical, postmodern, "feel good" forms of religion because they fulfill a genuine need that traditional forms of religion left unmet. And by railing without understanding, conservative Christians only perpetuate the cycle that drove so many people away from the faith. Mistaking Trump's beliefs for something they plainly are not because of this obsession shows that something has gone awry.

It's well known that Trump told his first wife he was going to church when he was actually going to fornicate with the woman who became his second wife. Different people use church in different ways.

And this is his mentor from the Church of Self-Delusion:

How Norman Vincent Peale Taught Donald Rump To Worship Himself

>> His parents, Fred and Mary, felt an immediate affinity for Peale’s teachings. On Sundays, they drove into Manhattan to worship at Marble Collegiate Church, where Peale was the head pastor. Donald and both his sisters were married there, and funeral services for both Fred and Mary took place in the main sanctuary.

“I still remember [Peale’s] sermons,” Trump told the Iowa Family Leadership Summit in July. “You could listen to him all day long. And when you left the church, you were disappointed it was over. He was the greatest guy.” A month later, in the same news conference at which Trump tossed out Univision anchor Jorge Ramos, he again referred to Peale as his pastor and said he was “one of the greatest speakers” he’d ever seen.

Known as “God’s salesman,” Peale merged worldliness and godliness to produce an easy-to-follow theology that preached self-confidence as a life philosophy. Critics called him a con man, described his church as a cult, and said his simple-minded approach shut off genuine thinking or insight. But Peale’s outlook, promoted through his radio shows, newspaper columns and articles, and through Guideposts, his monthly digest of inspirational messages, fit perfectly into the Trump family culture of never hesitating to bend the rules, doing whatever it took to win, and never, ever giving up. <<

What difference does it make?
There's no religious test for politicians is there?

True, which also makes the "O'bama is a Muslim" noise irrelevant.

But in this case it's not religion but psychology. That's where Narcissistic Personality Disorder applies. Psychology means behavior motivations. And that becomes very relevant indeed.

Doubt he's any more narcissistic than most other politicians over the last century.

likely on a par with the Clintons, as far as that goes.

OH no. OH no no no no no no no no.

Ever see the Clintons --- or anybody anywhere --- stay up all night sending whiny tweets because Megyn Kelly asked them a pointed question about documented behavior?

Ever see the Clintons --- or anybody anywhere --- whine that "waaah, the judge is Mexican"?

Ever see the Clintons --- or anybody anywhere --- deny the very existence of every negative ever brought up, things that are on record like, say, bankruptcies?

Ever see Rump --- any time, anywhere --- ever admit to a mistake, a bankruptcy, a fuckup of any kind whatsoever?? Ever heard of him apologizing to anyone, anywhere, for anything ever??

That's NPD my friend. It literally SCREAMS it in great big gold letters emblazoned on a great big edifice complex building with floor numbers skipped so that it will appear even more "bigly" than it is.

>> Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for admiration and a lack of empathy for others. But behind this mask of ultraconfidence lies a fragile self-esteem that's vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

A narcissistic personality disorder causes problems in many areas of life, such as relationships, work, school or financial affairs. You may be generally unhappy and disappointed when you're not given the special favors or admiration you believe you deserve.

...If you have narcissistic personality disorder, you may come across as conceited, boastful or pretentious. You often monopolize conversations. You may belittle or look down on people you perceive as inferior. You may feel a sense of entitlement — and when you don't receive special treatment, you may become impatient or angry. You may insist on having "the best" of everything — for instance, the best car, athletic club or medical care.

At the same time, you have trouble handling anything that may be perceived as criticism. You may have secret feelings of insecurity, shame, vulnerability and humiliation. To feel better, you may react with rage or contempt and try to belittle the other person to make yourself appear superior. Or you may feel depressed and moody because you fall short of perfection. << --- Mayo Clinic

Any of that sound familiar? Let's put it another way --- any of that NOT sound familiar?

so you tried to get in and were rejected because you would not ask forgiveness for being an ass to those who had the gall and audacity to disagree with you....didnt you?....

Trump has no sins. He's beyond sin. Ask him.

Funny how for years these lefties were so terrified of the bible thumping "rightwing evangelicals" that we're going to install a religious theocracy. Now they are terrified of a low key Christian businessman.
