What made United States great ?

fwiw, i still think America is great......and i'm old & not on any pharmaceuticals at all! :10:~S~

Its Constitution.
Putting God first, and including him in spirit into the Constitution. We couldn't have written a Constitution such as we have without him being added into the mix.

The reason we are claiming that we need to MAGA now, is because over the years there has been a negative force that has been attempting to remove God from everywhere in this nation.

It has been a relentless game of attrition that has been conducted by this negative force against us, yet it has been pushed back, and it is losing ground lately.

Hopefully the trend continues in the right direction which is to keep God in our midst always, and to continue to pray that he accepts our invitation to dwell amongst us always.
Our founders intentionally kept God out
You poor, poor ignorant person. The mention of God or his character doesn't have to always come in the form of literally calling out ones name or seeing a physical presence as in a photo if actually had one, but it can come in the form of ones intent or message placed within the content of a statement.

A physical presence as in body in sight of or direct wording as to mention by name is not needed, but only that the spirit in which guides our very actions afterwards, is all that is needed.

Hey it's like an instructional, where as once read and then applied you have the results. Anything good is the result of God, while anything bad is the result of the evil one. Take your choice.
Our founders saw the danger in an official religion

Like all Super Power Nations the United States was created via War and the taking of lands in it's early life. It survives because it becomes efficient at it. We stopped the powers of that day in the Revolution as they had over reached with Colonization of the world and constant Wars against other powers to maintain that control.

The Gov't itself has sustained itself because of the Founding Fathers creating a system that would give more rights then other forms of Gov't that had failed in the past. Studying why they failed and made solutions to prevent that.

Even with that..........our Nation nearly destroyed itself in the Civil War.............

Today...........our Greed and allowing the mistakes of the past to be relived is threatening our status........Because we have allowed self serving leaders to gain control instead of the Enumerated powers of the Constitution. The Founding Fathers understood that a Government with too much power is too easily corrupted for self gain............Such as Athens and Rome................who's leaders made themselves career politicians for gold and power.............the corruption and holding of too many territories eventually bringing them down...........

No system of Gov't can sustain itself without Ethical people running it....................an area that is lost in the United States.
And to have ethics and morals is to have Godlyness within the make up of the individual or collective believing in such things... These ethics or morals guide their pens, and their actions afterwards. Where such things no longer exist, then we see the results of. To understand good and evil is to look within the contents of history, and to take from those events the triumphs of righteousness over unrighteousness.

The Founders hated corporations and were very strict on their licensing and they would never consider them to be individuals like the GOP changed in the late 19th century..
But then again the party of Lincoln highly centralized the feds and took away states rights ....Then they went to work on monopolies and subjugation of native American injuns..

Our main failure was that we didn't heed the warnings of our Founding Fathers.................

They warned us over and over again about the dangers of giving the Central Government too much power......It is exactly why they limited the scope of Gov't to Enumerated Powers................

They did this after studying the rise and fall of other powers in deciding to make this country a Republic............

Since we gave these excessive powers............our Gov't has become ENORMOUS in size and scope.............and these leaders have used it for self gain.............and they have used it to abuse the powers prescribed under the Constitution........To take from one to give to another in claiming it is for the General Welfare................

Instead of LOCAL gov'ts deciding what is best for themselves at a local level...........

And here lies the demise of our Republic................and History of those before us making the same mistakes.
That all started during and after the Civil War....When states rights fought a war and the war won...
Power centered in the states made sense when we were a nation distributed over a large area with poor transportation and limited co munication

We saw the dangers of too much power in the states during the civil war. We moved from being a bunch of states that were united to THE UNITED STATES

Many mistakes made in which opens the door to evilness to take up residence within. There is still enough good souls left in order to keep a healthy balance, but who am I to predict the future ? No man shall no the time nor the place.

“The general Principles, on which the Fathers Atchieved [sic] Independence, were the only Principles in which that beautiful Assembly of young Gentlemen could Unite . . . . And what were these general Principles? I answer, the general Principles of Christianity, in which all those Sects were United: And the general Principles of English and American Liberty, in which all those young Men United, and which had United all Parties in America, in Majorities sufficient to assert and maintain her Independence. Now I will avow, that I then believed, and now believe, that those general Principles of Christianity, are as eternal and immutable, as the Existence and Attributes of God; and that those Principles of Liberty, are as unalterable as human Nature and our terrestrial, mundane System."

Given the Christian leanings of the population, our founders could have easily set up a nation built around the trappings of religion
Most of Europe was like that

Freedom of religion was not the establishment of religion in our government but an assurance you can have any religion you want (or no religion) WITHOUT government influence or interference

You are now trying to twist the meaning of the Founding Fathers to JUSTIFY a LARGE CENTRAL GOV'T............

Which is simply WRONG.

History of 'In God We Trust'

The motto IN GOD WE TRUST was placed on United States coins largely because of the increased religious sentiment existing during the Civil War. Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase received many appeals from devout persons throughout the country, urging that the United States recognize the Deity on United States coins. From Treasury Department records, it appears that the first such appeal came in a letter dated November 13, 1861. It was written to Secretary Chase by Rev. M. R. Watkinson, Minister of the Gospel from Ridleyville, Pennsylvania, and read:

Dear Sir: You are about to submit your annual report to the Congress respecting the affairs of the national finances.
One fact touching our currency has hitherto been seriously overlooked. I mean the recognition of the Almighty God in some form on our coins.

You are probably a Christian. What if our Republic were not shattered beyond reconstruction? Would not the antiquaries of succeeding centuries rightly reason from our past that we were a heathen nation? What I propose is that instead of the goddess of liberty we shall have next inside the 13 stars a ring inscribed with the words PERPETUAL UNION; within the ring the allseeing eye, crowned with a halo; beneath this eye the American flag, bearing in its field stars equal to the number of the States united; in the folds of the bars the words GOD, LIBERTY, LAW.

This would make a beautiful coin, to which no possible citizen could object. This would relieve us from the ignominy of heathenism. This would place us openly under the Divine protection we have personally claimed. From my hearth I have felt our national shame in disowning God as not the least of our present national disasters.

To you first I address a subject that must be agitated.

As a result, Secretary Chase instructed James Pollock, Director of the Mint at Philadelphia, to prepare a motto, in a letter dated November 20, 1861: Dear Sir: No nation can be strong except in the strength of God, or safe except in His defense. The trust of our people in God should be declared on our national coins.
You will cause a device to be prepared without unnecessary delay with a motto expressing in the fewest and tersest words possible this national recognition.

It was found that the Act of Congress dated January 18, 1837, prescribed the mottoes and devices that should be placed upon the coins of the United States. This meant that the mint could make no changes without the enactment of additional legislation by the Congress. In December 1863, the Director of the Mint submitted designs for new one-cent coin, two-cent coin, and three-cent coin to Secretary Chase for approval. He proposed that upon the designs either OUR COUNTRY; OUR GOD or GOD, OUR TRUST should appear as a motto on the coins. In a letter to the Mint Director on December 9, 1863, Secretary Chase stated: I approve your mottoes, only suggesting that on that with the Washington obverse the motto should begin with the word OUR, so as to read OUR GOD AND OUR COUNTRY. And on that with the shield, it should be changed so as to read: IN GOD WE TRUST.
The Congress passed the Act of April 22, 1864. This legislation changed the composition of the one-cent coin and authorized the minting of the two-cent coin. The Mint Director was directed to develop the designs for these coins for final approval of the Secretary. IN GOD WE TRUST first appeared on the 1864 two-cent coin

Hmmm, so we have since begun to have some serious problems with this concept now, and so will the same results come from expanding to the globalism model as well ??? The United States worked because God crossed all borders in order to keep unity amongst the believer's, and as we see a great falling away now, we are also seeing a slide back into the mistakes that were made in the past (before we were unified as one nation under God with liberty and justice for all).

The very settlers of the New World.........aka the United States came here to escape Religious Persecution of Europe.

It was quite on the minds of the Founding Fathers when they created the Republic............

They understood that while they were fundamentally Christian here..............they wanted to prevent Religious Persecution that got so many to leave Europe in the settling of this country.

It doesn't mean the Religion was dead with them...........many of the laws had God in it.............it simply meant that they were not allowing Fuedalism associated with Religion and mistakes of Europe............

To prevent persecution of those of different faiths.
