As I said, women were denied the vote for a very long time after this country was founded, there were laws that stripped a woman's property rights away and gave them to her husband, including giving husbands a right to their wives' paychecks, husbands controlled a woman's fertility instead of the wife, a husband could rape his wife and force a pregnancy on her with impunity, a woman could not register a patent, women were banned from studying for the professions, and contraception was banned, to name a few of the disadvantages that the law saddled female citizens with. These laws were enforced throughout the country, not just in Wyoming.

As you can see, denial of participation in democracy was not the only problem faced by female Americans.

These laws were enforced throughout the country, not just in Wyoming.

As you can see, denial of participation in democracy was not the only problem faced by female Americans.

These laws were enforced throughout the country, not just in Wyoming.

As you can see, denial of participation in democracy was not the only problem faced by female Americans.
