As I said, there are cities across the nation that manage not to have such a horrible relationship between the police and public so it is natural to look at what is different about Ferguson, turns out hostile police polices are the difference. My immediate reaction to reading that sentence was to initially cringe at how your comment might be subtly racist, and I was going to suggest that perhaps something along the lines of "heathen kids" might be better. Fortunately it only took me about 100 milliseconds to follow through my thought process and realize that "heathen" is actually more racist, and that I was being irrational.
