Which Republican is giving up Medicare & SS on retirement?

I'll give up Social Security after the fucking government give me back the money they forcefully took from me for 30 years and return the money they forcefully took from my employer, with interest.

However, I will agree to give up all future claims to Social Security if they would stop the program so that my children and grandchildren will not have to be burdened with it.

A little too late now. If they allowed us to take that same amount of money we and our employer put into the system, invested it in a private conservative account many years ago, the amount of money we'd have today would be stunning.

congressional retirement package>>>

In 2016, Congressional pay was $174,000 per year, which, at an 80% rate, equates to a lifelong pension benefit of $139,200. All benefits are taxpayer-funded. Additionally, members of Congress enjoy the same Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) as all other federal employees, which is similar to a 401(k).Feb 5, 2018

So ask yourself why any retired Congress critter pulling in 140K yr would need to worry about SS? , let alone have the ordacity to ask for it

Republicans they complain if someone is poor, and also complain about government helping them not be poor & about businesses helping them not be poor by paying them more?

Government has never helped anybody "not be poor." Government gives them enough to live on, however having enough to live on does not mean one is no longer poor.

Republicans believe that government should not force industry to pay people more than their labor is worth. If one wants their labor to be worth more, it's up to them to make that happen--not government nor industry.

Republicans are the first to complain about flop houses & homeless in shabby clothes.

Then they complain about bosses paying them too much.

Then they complain about government helping them.

It makes Republicans come off as cruel, thoughtless & Heartless.

Is it cruel, thoughtless and heartless to deny your child endless amounts of candy or cookies?

Sometimes the best thing you can do for a person is to not help them. That forces them to help themselves. It may seem cruel and heartless, but in the long run, it's better for them because it forces them to try harder.

Which horse runs faster, the one you feed carrots to all day or the one you dangle the carrot in front of to make him run?

Social security and Medicare are two very successful programs instituted by two of most hated Democratic presidents of all time.

So naturally, the republicans would love nothing more than eliminate them.

But since they are so fucking lame at doing anything other than giving tax cuts to the billionaires, they’ll never come up with replacements.

That's the problem. I call this the Ray from Cleveland's Raccoon Theory.

You see a raccoon digging through your garbage can. So you go inside the house and fetch that half a ham you were going to throw out at the end of the week anyway. The animal eats in delight. Now give it a couple of seconds and try to take that ham away and see what happens.

My raccoon theory is not something new. Politicians knew of this theory all along--especially on the left.

Once you give people something, they automatically claim it as their own. Like the raccoon, it's virtually impossible to take it away--unless you want to get your hand chewed up.

And this is why when Republicans are in power, they cannot take social goodies away. It's also the reason we need to stop creating more social programs.

Only thing is that these are not Racoons but rather People we're helping.

Beyond helping people these social programs seem to help the economy.
Probably by freeing up money from rich horders & putting it into the hands of people who'd hardly be consumers & make them better consumers.

Face the facts the 3 biggest economic growth in the 20th century USA were FDR, Harding & LBJ each implemented social programs.

I can't stand these leftists who think consumption is the be all and end all, and yet believe that they are saving the environment by slinging pro environmentalist slogans. Consumption is not a virtue you moron. It would be one thing if they worked and then enjoyed the fruits, but of course they drain the goods from others.

Worst people ever. Explains to the T how such a child cannibalizing program is allowed to exist.

It's MY $$$, that i fuckin' earned, and allowed them to plunder

It’s blood money. It’s stolen from me every week as well. Given an option I’d opt out immediately. We don’t get that option. It’s still blood money, poisoned by being touched by the Government. I don’t want it.

debt-added-by-the-previous-43-presidents-combined-6-3-trillion-11827103.png

Obama's stimulis package was BS & Trump's tax cuts were BS.

Both added on a ton of debt & did nothing to help the real wages grow much.

Wages in the US grew at their fastest pace for nine years last month, the latest official figures show.

The US Labor Department said wages grew at an annual rate of 3.1% in October, accelerating from a rate of 2.8% the month before.

The economy also added 250,000 jobs last month, beating expectations, while the jobless rate remained at 3.7%.

US wage growth hits nine-year high

Inflation is going up quicker than wages are, opps.

Inflation hurts our oldest members the most.

Thats why Social security & medicare are so important

If we want these programs, then they need to be funded. They are causing all kinds of problems because people lived their lives without saving and depended on SS being enough to make it. It isn't.

Medicare and Medicaid only pay about 2/3 of their patients bill. Not a big deal for a doctors visit, but a real problem for a $200,000 surgery. So then they need to up their prices and that gets passed on to non-government patients who's sole payer is insurance. Then insurance rates go up and it becomes unaffordable for some people.

Social Security and Medicare are some of the best programs ever provided by the US Government. Social Security is not a Ponzi scheme and does not meet the definition of a Ponzi scheme. Social Security is not an investment plan. Social Security and Medicare are hybrid insurance plans. Any investment plan used to compare SS would have to include an insurance program equal to what SS offers.

So what's your 'fix' Ray?

First off the fix is to fund these programs. I can't even remember the last time there was an increase in our Medicare deductions. Much of the money comes out of the general fund to support the program.

We need a 25% increase in Medicare payroll deductions and a 20% increase in SS deductions from working people. Then people can decide if they want to continue going down this road. If Medicare starts paying it's "fair share" that will help eliminate premium increases down the road.

As I mentioned earlier, a Medical Savings Account. Like SS and Medicare, it would be mandated we all have them. That would reduce costs to insurance companies that process all these nickel and dime claims.

Allow people with preexisting conditions to buy into Medicare like we do for people on disability. That takes all the high risk people out of the insurance pool and lowers premium costs for everybody else.

A.) The 3 biggest depressions & or recessions happened after tax cuts.

Being Hoover, Reagan & W. Bush.

B.) The 3 biggest economic booms happened after social programs.

Being created like FDR, Harding & LBJ.

C.) I'm anything else but a leftist.

I'm a Fascist racialist.

In Europe theres real Right wingers.

USA not really Republicans are just Democrats who cut taxes.

They’re both immoral and unconstitutional. Nothing that you can say will change my mind on either of those points. I will not touch the fruts of the poisoned trees.

Unfortunately when my guess is 25% would be lower class wages without aid & another 25% would be less than middle class which is making 30 K or less a year.

A lot of people work hard to be paid modest wages.

Because DRUM ROLL. Businesses pay them modest wages.

Those who can't help themselves are typically that way because of the Capitalist system.

No, he is challenging the premise.

The PREMISE..is that for all the attacks these creeps make on our shared healthcare and retirement...none of them turn it down

Why should they refuse getting their own money back? Would you refuse if an armed thief stole money from you every week for 40 years, giving it to someone else, then finally giving you someone else's money when you stop working?

It's no more hypocritical to criticize a program you're forced to participate in and take back what you're forced to contribute than it is to criticize the poor quality of the roads that you travel every day to get to work.

Don't worry truck drivers don't finance Medicare much.

Denocrat billionaires do finance it a lot like Soros, Zuckerberg, Larry Page, Bezos, Bill Gates, Brian Roberts, Sumner Redstone & Warren Buffet.

I've yet to meet a Republican who didn't take Social Security & Medicare after retirenent?

I have seen a lot complain about such programs none the less.

Seems a bit hypocritical, no?
You are a moron.

You can’t steal money from someone all their life and expect that person not to want some of that money back when they are old and retired just because of principle.

Plain & simple you don't complain about something you end up running in line for thats called hypocrisy.

Is it hypocritical to complain about the quality of the roads you travel on? No.
