Options. Make it again the cultural expectation that people will postpone sex until they are mature enough to take measures to prevent preganancy or postpone sex until they are ready to have children. Except in cases of incest and rape or mental incapacity, that make up 1% or less of all abortions, women have ALWAYS had that option.

Options. If you want to engage in high risk behavior, have a fairly simple medical procedure to ensure that no pregnancy can happen. That once was legal but socially unacceptable and most doctors wouldn't do it for other than medical reasons or for women who already had a lot of kids. Now I think it necessary.

Options. Re-establish an appreciation and respect and reverence for life and teach again that an abortion ends a human life and must not be done casually. Make abortion purely for convenience not necessarily illegal, but socially unacceptable.

Options. Re-establish marriage to a responsible person as the cultural norm in this country and to have and raise children responsibly as the goal of most marriages.

Hardly anyone in the US wants to claim the status of intelligentsia, seeing as how it's 1. immodest & 2. tied to the bad ol' Russkies (pre-Communist, yet!)

Angst is interesting. But you really can't conjugate the thing, unless you're a German-speaker. I'd just go with anguished, or whatever the term was you were reaching for.

Yah, there are a lot of abortions in the US. There are a couple of ways to fix that:
1. Birth control information for everyone in high school, & access to birth control devices for anyone who wants them (probably best through the city or county health clinic - to preserve a degree of anonymity - I don't know how we'd handle notifying the parents/ caregivers. That needs to be addressed. (I'd hold off on BC pills - high school is still pretty young for hormonal-based BC.)
2. Universal health care for everyone, single-payer. That way, women who want to carry to term & give up the baby @ least are guaranteed health care to that point.
3. For women who repeatedly undergo abortions as BC, yah, we could offer them implantable BC. I don't think the state should get involved in sterilizing people without a lot of due process. & I think the safeguards to make sure the procedure was voluntarily entered into is just too much procedures & time & hearings. The courts can barely keep up as it is. Better a short-term solution, that can be reversed easily, if the woman changes her mind.

Well even I am not as tough as that. But I say that no woman should have a child that she expects the rest of us to feed, clothe, house, doctor, and educate. If she wants kids, then she should be prepared to raise them. If she insists on having them and doesn't intend to raise them, then she should give up the baby or the state should take it and give it to somebody who will love it and provide its basic needs. But the choice is strictly hers and nobody coerces her into anything. Such a policy would eliminate most of the child poverty that now exists. What woman would get intentionally pregnant with a child she couldn't support and couldn't keep if she couldn't support it?

Same with tattoos and cigarettes and drugs and beer and junk food and gambling and any or all other activities that people choose to engage in. If they are on the government dole, they do without anything other than what they absolutely need. If they want all that other stuff, they better prepare themselves to work at a paying job. Such a policy would encourage a whole lot of kids to stay in school and prepare themselves to work.

And with abortion, if your insurance paid for one but all the others, except under medical emergency, came out of pocket, we would see a hell of a lot fewer abortions. Most especially if the government was not paying people to do abortions for free.

Just doesn't make any sense that the "smart" people have NO problem with 1,835 abortions PER DAY.
But look how excited,how emotional, how hysterical they are about: 8 deaths PER YEAR.

Very interesting. There should be absolutely no restrictions of any kind placed upon a woman's ability to get an abortion if she so chooses. Her reasons for getting an abortion are entirely her business and no one should have any say in the matter but her and her doctor.

My point is 670,000 abortions by women who already had one or more to me is a failure to educate!

And "education" being a rosetta stone to the intelligentsia should mean a bigger effort to "educate" these women.
I mean we require driver's license so people at least have been educated about the weapon they are driving ... why not license the woman to have an abortion?
Unless.. to the intelligentsia a woman's right to kill a fetus is more important then ...? What?
The socialist/intelligentsia want federal funding for abortions. OK. I want federal regulations that will require if my tax money is paid to murder people I want
those women with one or more to be licensed showing they had been educated in sex contraception.
At least they like the teen driver is licensed to have sex even though they maybe irresponsible and ultimately my tax money will be used to perform the abortion!
I mean when a woman has her first abortion, she should pay a modest license fee renewed with testing before renewal.
Why this governmental control of birth is exactly what the founders of Planned Parenthood were after in the first place!

I have no problem with education, so long as it is not an obligation prior to a woman making a decision. From my point of view, we are talking about the right of a person to decide how their body is to be used. One person does not have the right to the use of another person's body without their permission regardless of their need. If a woman decides she does not want the fetus to use her body and that means the fetus dies, then the fetus dies. The woman's right is absolute and there are no other priorities.

As to people killed by guns, I think that is unfortunate but I see no reason in restricting someone's rights to own one as a result. I do not desire to live in a perfectly safe society, just a free one. So long as a woman does not have absolute decision making capability over her own body, this is not a free society.
