Negotiation and compromise means that both sides give and take until an agreement is reached. Clinton and Newt did it. Reagan and O'Neill did it. Obama refuses.

I didn't vote for Obama, but imo he cannot compromise on the shutdown, not even a little. The Gop shut it down simply because it lacks the votes to repeal obamacare. That's it. That was the whole Cruzathon thing. If Cruz can do it, why can't Maxine Watters or some winger from the left? It literally is saying "no" to a tantrum.

However, in politics you have to give the other side something. Obama is saying no compromise even for a debt ceiling extension. Boehner hints that he's open to a grand bargain, but the WH went there and learned "Boehner can't deliver a pizza" with the teaparty having his nads in the wringer.

Obama can give them Keystone. He can give them chained CPI for Soc Sec. He can give them a general 2% cut in proposed 2014 spending. I'd like all of them, but I am nominally a goper (tea party nyet). He can't give them that just for a debt hike. Nobody wants a debt hike. There's nobody in the gop to negotiate with.

If the ACA bill was so damn important and you libs have been trying to do it for 50 years, why didn't any of your reps in congress take the time to read it before voting for it?

The most expansive change in the role of govt in over 200 years, and you silly fucks let junior staffers write it in a closed room, would not allow any floor debate, and then passed it before anyone actually read it.

That is the worst example of legislation in the history of this nation. It is a terrible bill/law and if not fixed, will destroy our already fragile economy.

We already have universal background checks, no new law is needed unless you think you are going to get a gangbanger buying a gun from another gangbanger to call in for a background check.

The GOP has made a viable offer, they offered to fund everything at the level obama wants as long as there is a 1 year delay in the individual mandate for obamacare---just like the delay that obama gave to his big business cronies-----illegally by the way.

Obama terrorized elderly veterans by putting up barricades around the world war 2 memorial.
Obama terrorized congress with fear of going to war over a "red line".
Obama's wife terrorized school children with a fatwa on junk food and replacing it with torturous vegetable boarding.

2. We have now moved beyond repealing Obamacare to postponing it for a year the same way Obama postponed Obamacare for big businesses and unions. Please try to keep up.

Most people are against a government shutdown. Most people are against Obamacare. I know Obama doesn't want to compromise but he should really stop trying to hold the American people "hostage" while "terrorizing" the concept of law and the will of the people.
