Why is Obamacare so important?

They don’t give a shit about whether it’s effective or good for anyone. It’s their finger hold on government taking over healthcare and it’s about to slip out of their grasp. It may be another 100 years before the left can get this close to control if the ACA is shut down. That’s why they’re so desperate.
FACTS... don't matter to the Democrats! Political power is all they want and this attached shows how totally WRONG Obamacare was from the very beginning statement "over 46 million Americans are uninsured"!
And the architect of Obamacare AGREES! Gruber who said it took stupidity to pass ACA reported nearly 60% of ACA enrollment were eligible AS the attach points out for Medicaid BEFORE Obamacare! Obama's administration NEVER enrolled them in Medicaid!
Plus Obama lied because he included 10 million of his 46 million who were ILLEGALS!

What harm did it do? If there were no uninsured then there should have been no takers. The fact that it pushed the number of uninsured down showed that the above was not entirely true. Also the ACA did many things such as protecting people with pre-existing conditions. Protecting seniors from massive premiums.

The question is why Republicans are so obsessed with ending Obamacare. That includes Republican judges.

Thanks to Obamacare More People Can Afford Healthcare, Are Insured & get Better Care!!!

Biden didn't make this chart, it came from Trump's Government!!!
Hillarycare & Obamacare cost are a smaller percent of Workers Pay & GDP!!!

Moron...have you looked at the plans? You pay through the nose for coverage you can't afford because of the massive deductible.......and it only works because the government subsidizes the poor.....in order to crush private healthcare....

You hate poor people getting coverage. It does not crush private healthcare.

What is it about this horrific program that the democrooks are so adamant about keeping in place, in spite of the incredible election loss they suffered in 2010 after barely getting it across the finish line?

It's a bullshit law. It did the exact opposite of every promise the meat puppet faggot made. The fuckin WEBSITE ALONE cost $1.7B and was a complete goatfuck. A handful of college dipshits created Face(ASS)Book for next to nothing and became billionaires. The entire law should have been flushed down a toilet but for some unknown reason we're still stuck trying to get rid of it. Even the republicrats act as if it needs to be "replaced".

It's a turd, you don't polish turds and pretend you made something better out of it. The reason HC costs so much is BECAUSE OF GOVERNMENT, not because they needed to regulate the shit out of it more.

I hope that after ACB gets to fumigate the smell of sulphur and old diapers from RBG's old office she will put the final fork into this abysmal program and that the GOP led by Trump will get the fucking lawyers out of the medical industry..

Why the CommieCare is important to Democrats? Because it's a foundation to build on in order to reach single payer, government controlled health care. If ACA is completely repealed, and destroyed, they'll lose foot in the doorstep and instead of continuing to build on something they already started, they would have start all over again.

That is so stupid. There is no reason they cannot go to single payer without the ACA. The repeal of ACA makes it more likely that a single payer would be used.

Obamacare is more popular than Donald Trump. A majority want it modified not done away.

Healthcare would cost more without government intervention. People with pre-existing conditions would be unable to afford health insurance. People who are not poor enough for Medicare but not rich enough to afford health insurance would have to rely on emergency rooms. Insurance companies would be able to write policies that are totally useless.

If they do that then that proves that they are legislating from the bench. The only questionable requirement was that people must buy insurance. I do believe that it is however that is not in the law anymore. It is constitutional now. That would be more than enough reason to expand the court.
The mandate was repealed. One suggested legislative fix from the dems to insure (-: Barrett cannot find the ACA illegal was to actually enact a small tax, even $10 a year, on those who don't have health insurance. As it stands now, there is no tax on not having insurance. But there's no requirement to buy it either. If it literally raised revenue from those not insured, then it would literally be a tax, and for an originalist that would have to make it const.

(I'm leery that any of these justices are actually orginalist. Gorsuch claims to be a textualist or "read it as it'd be understood today." But doing that would be contrary to current gop thought on stuff like the commerce clause. So we'll see.

I'm for the govt helping people get care by taxing the 1% and HC rproviders. I'm not a big fan of Obamacare and even less of Medicare for all though.

We have the same number of uninsured. Pre-existing conditions protection isn’t going away, ever. And premiums tripled in price.

The only thing obiecare did was get us very close to the government can force you to buy anything they decide you should. Under penalty if you don’t.

What other required purchases would you like the government to mandate?

And only a moron would think taxing HC providers is going to make HC cheaper.

If Republicans had a better solution to healthcare, they wouldn’t be desperately trying to shove through a SCOTUS justice to overturn it.

The ACA is important because Republicans don’t have any better ideas.

Having better solution, or not, has nothing to do with constitutionality. If law is unconstitutional, is should be repealed, period.

This seems to escape Democrats. The Supreme Court should interpret laws.

Run on no healthcare law as it was before 2008. Please. apparently having the dems have a 60 maj in the senate for the first time since 1964 wasn't enough to wake up you guys. I mean it worked so well. We so benefitted. Maybe undergoing the experience twice will do the trick for you guys. You know … hammer, thumb. Let's do it again for the IMPRESSION!!! .

Many have been fooled into thinking they will get better healthcare from the government, particularly clueless, uninformed Democrats. Sheep will be sheep.

the government.

If law has been through a decade of court challenges. If it were unconstitutional, we’d know by now.

This is about Republicans using the courts to accomplish what they didn’t have the political ability to do.

Yep. That's what the Constitution is for.

The constitution is not supposed to be distorted into the “easy way out” for Congress to fail to do its job.

No, that's exactly what it's for. When Congress fucks up and steps outside its constraints, the Court is there to slap them down.

The law passed a decade ago. Just now getting around to determining whether it’s constitutional?

Obviously not. This isn’t about finding the right constitutional argument against it, this is about finding the right judge to rule in your favor.

That’s not what the constitution is for.

More like re-addressing Roberts' decision from before. That's allowed you know.

Sure it is. Judges make mistakes. Courts make mistakes. Never too late to right a wrong.

The solution is legislative. Taking it back to the courts just because you changed the lineup is a failure of leadership and pure cowardice.
