Why wouldn’t legitimate politicians introduce a Bill to end birthright citizenship?

The 13th 14th and 15th are 100% about addressing the end of slavery and granting citizenship to blacks/their offspring. The 14th never gave a right of citizenship to a baby that was born from a woman in the country illegally or legally on a tourist/school visa. And back then there was virtually no immigration laws, no free stuff, etc. The first meat and potato immigration laws were passed around 1924. The anchor baby garbage needs to end.

The 14trh amendment is as plain as the nose on your face. Apparently you are incapable of reading.

Maybe you need to read something other than what your Nazi friends write. Even politicians of the time agreed that there is birthright citizenship and a reading of it shows this is the correct interpretation.

Post-Civil War reforms focused on injustices to African Americans. The 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868 to protect the rights of native-born Black Americans, whose rights were being denied as recently-freed slaves. It was written in a manner so as to prevent state governments from ever denying citizenship to blacks born in the United States. But in 1868, the United States had no formal immigration policy, and the authors therefore saw no need to address immigration explicitly in the amendment.

Senator Jacob Howard worked closely with Abraham Lincoln in drafting and passing the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which abolished slavery. He also served on the Senate Joint Committee on Reconstruction, which drafted the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. In 1866, Senator Jacob Howard clearly spelled out the intent of the 14th Amendment by stating:

"Every person born within the limits of the United States, and subject to their jurisdiction, is by virtue of natural law and national law a citizen of the United States. This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons. It settles the great question of citizenship and removes all doubt as to what persons are or are not citizens of the United States. This has long been a great desideratum in the jurisprudence and legislation of this country."


 
I know Democrats cringe at the thought of such a Bill but aren’t politicians supposed to protect Americans and not Mexico’s people?

The 14th amendment guarantees that all person born in the US are citizens. No interpretation is needed. It is crystal clear. This was extremely important because until the 14th amendment was passed, US citizenship was based on state citizenship and each state decided who was a citizen of that state and thus the United States. Criteria for citizenship varied by state. When a person moved between states, they lost citizen in the previous state and might not have citizenship in the state they moved until they met that states requirement. Blacks would be citizens in some states but not in others and Native Americans would not be US citizens. Becoming a citizens of a state, required some action which was taken usually only by landowners. Thus many people living in states were actually not citizens, although they might vote and considered themselves citizens.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
