And on a side-note, you may wanna look for other work
Thank you for the kind words. I do hope things work out. I just have to live with the fact there is not much I can do post shutdown. But, to be clear, I have not been sitting around waiting for the NLRB to put me back to work: I have sought and found other work off and on these past harsh years, but not enough to get by without my old "full time" position in the union that was lost due to unfair labor practices. Its a struggle to find any steady work, let alone work to replace the higher paying steady gigs I am fighting to get back to (in this or any other industry).
I was just put back to union work recently thanks to pressure from the NLRB, but that stopped the moment the legal authority of the NLRB vanished again this week week with the shutdown.
Now, instead of working my way back into the union with the NLRB's help, I am right back to looking elsewhere for work and not having much luck with no idea when the NLRB will be able to pick up my charge again and what that has done to the settlement offer in the works (that appears dead now).
My NLRB charge investigation has been dragged out by bitter partisan political battles all year, so I will likely run out of unemployment by Christmas (happy holidays!) when these matters could have and likely would already have been resolved by now, if not for the childish antics of our so called congressional leaders.
