It is estimated that between the court costs for building a wall/fence on private properties (and tribal lands), the actual building costs, and the needed constant maintenance of that wall from underground tunnels, etc. will cost us $40 plus billions.

So what you are advocating is the alternative where illegals can come and go as they please and if they commit a heinous crime, they can scurry back across the border. That you are advocating the squirting out of anchor babies that the taxpayer pays for and the ER rooms that are filled with them that we pay via higher insurance premiums and higher healthcare costs (because someone has to pay for them). Housing illegals that fill our prisons is pretty fucking costly as well. There is also the added of cost of printing things in English and Espanol.

Funny, I don't recall that being an issue when people were entering through Ellis Island and going through the vetting process......paperwork didn't have to be done in many different languages like Italian, German, Polish, etc, etc. The unsecured border was always purposely left basically open because of what it would produce and how it would water down the nationalism...how it would allow the free flow of drugs into this country, provide ultra cheap labor and drive down the wages of the working poor. Of course the leftard clown posse saw them as yet another underclass to wrap their arms around and since many Mexicans embrace communism? All the better. There has been a quiet invasion of this country but instead of aiming guns at us, they have aimed the uterus's of their women as the weapon of choice and now the Chinese are getting in on the act.

They've already committed to appropriating 15 billion to start. And how about a link on the maintenance cost.

Well you have to build the wall before you can estimate the maintenance but it will be huge because. You have to build housing for the BP agents in those remotes areas. Which includes water system, AC, electricity, plumbing etc. In the long run Rain and storm will damage the foundation of those walls.

I think I have figured out the true leftist opposition to the wall. It isn't the cost, they don't care about the benefits...it's all political. Once that wall is up it's permanent. It's not like an EO they can reverse to pander to Mexicans, it's not a path way to legalization they can taunt people with. It's permanent and done and if they ever get control again and illegals start flooding back over they have nothing to blame it on. Not sure if they included buying the private lands, roads to transport materials, heavy equipments, housing for construction workers etc etc.

The existing fence about 700 miles was designed to impede vehicles but not humans. So I assumed they will remove those fences and replace it with walls.

We don't need to buy any private lands. It's called an easement. You have at least one possibly two on your property right now. It's where all of your utilities run through and they have all the rights to go dig it up at any time they want or need to in order to add, change, modify or update any utilities in that space without your permission or consent. You really think the border of a country is any different?

Oh ok, so you can't read. Your link put the cost of the wall at 27-40 billion, there's no mention of maintenance. Also they are calculating a placed on site concrete structure, precast concrete panels could save a ton on labor. You got anymore biased links for me to look at?
