What hysterics:

Abolishing Public Education:

Abolishing MediCare/MedicAid or SS:

Getting rid of ALL social programs has been a major pillar of the Free Market Capitalism promoted by Milton Friedman and the Chicago School of Economics, who won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1976, and whose theories were adopted by the Reagan Administration, the World Bank and the IMF.

Friedman has now been fully debunked and discredited, but Republicans are still clinging to his "capitalism on steriods" attitude towards the peasantry. No health care, no pensions, no minimum wages, no price controls. In every country where it was tried, wages fell, prices, rose, poverty increased, and leftists were prosecuted/murderred, to quell the unrest.

School choice

the lead House Republican for budget issues, Jodey Arrington, recently wrote, ‘Unchecked mandatory spending on programs like Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and welfare represent a growing threat to our economic security and potentially our way of life,’"

Republicans want to do away with Social Security. They just can't because it's too popular but eventually, they'll try. They've tried before. In 10 years I suspect 20% cut to social security in order to "save" the program.

Remember since the 80's Republicans have been saying don't count on it being there when you retire.

According to the Social Security Administration (SSA), estimates suggest that 18% of elderly beneficiaries are completely dependent on Social Security for their income. An AARP analysis found that about one in seven Social Security recipients ages 65 and older depend on their benefits for almost all of their income.

And then there's all the people who rely on SS to supplement their 401K. Probably 50% of Americans.
Only because of how leftist voters abuse those systems! The people who have payed into social security, and supplement their incomes with 401k's are bad?

It wasn't discussed during the elections but does any one doubt SS is going to be put on the chopping block?

No way one usmb Republican will say they like and want to keep SS.

And if they want to at least tell us in 2019 so we can vote on it.
SS still here?

When you don't support public schools who exist so ANY CHILD can have an education
what you really saying is That you only care about what you & those like you Want.
And the hell with All OTHER CHILDERN.
Why not join those who want better public schools
Half of them are REPUBLICANS.

When the system has failed for fifty plus years in inner city schools, it’s time for them to receive their student’s money and choose a better school. Fk your union

School choice!

Yes, school choice, is one way of doing it. Diverting money from the public system, starving it of cash, and further degrading the quality of education in the public system.

After Katrina, the New Orleans School System closed all public schools and converted to a Charter School system. 60,000 children from poor neighbourhoods failed to register is any charter school, and just disappeared from the public school system.

"The city’s experienced teachers, mostly African-American, like their students, were fired and replaced by inexperienced Teach for America recruits. Philanthropies and the federal government poured billions into the district to help privatization succeed."

But despite hiring new teachers and spending billions of dollars, 10 years later:

"In the key subjects of math and reading, Orleans performs at the 24th percentile compared to all other state school systems. This is approximately the same as the Orleans school system performed before Katrina!'

And as for being cheaper than the Public School System, the Charter System was outrageously expenses, with only 36% of the money going to classroom, versus 56% in publically owned schools.

"The Pelican Policy Institute study has provided a rough measure of how the school money in Orleans is now allocated. Total per pupil funding of the New Orleans system now adds up to $24,434 per student. For Louisiana, this is lavish funding by any measure. The state average per pupil funding is now $11,755, less than half the per pupil amount for New Orleans. How do the New Orleans schools allocate their per pupil funding compared to all other public schools? According to the Pelican Policy dashboard, New Orleans now spends 23% of all its funding on administration and 36% on classroom instruction. (Salaries of the Charter managers are not published as far as I know) The state average for other systems in Louisiana is 8% for administration and 56% for the classrooms. (All non-charter public-school administrators and teacher salary schedules are public records)"

New Orleans Board Of Education is now refusing to renew licenses for Charter Schools and is returning to running their own schools.

/——/ Rep. Robert B. Aderholt (R-Ala.), chairman of the appropriations subcommittee on labor, health and human services, and education, defended the Title 1 cut on the House floor Tuesday, saying, “While Title I grants do support school districts everywhere, including rural schools in districts like my own, these funds disproportionately support big city public schools: The same public schools that failed to educate the most-vulnerable children entrusted to them, by closing their doors for almost two years … until this funding is drawn down and it is used responsibly, the federal government should not continue to make further investments in these failing schools.”

Voting to spend tax-payer money isn't "showing you care".

Maybe you should read what the SS trustees say:

As a result of changes to Social Security enacted in 1983, benefits are now expected to be payable in full on a timely basis until 2037, when the trust fund reserves are projected to become exhausted.

At the point where the reserves are used up, continuing taxes are expected to be enough to pay 76 percent of scheduled benefits.

Stop your pettiness.

The fixes are very easy and cost effective.

Does Trump have a plan???? Of course not. Trump has no plans for anything other than prosecuting his "enemies", and slapping tariffs on all imports.
The difference being that Biden will actually work with Congress to fix it, he'll listen to those who do have more expertise into what works than he has.
Trump will neither listen to any advice, nor is he capable of doing anything other than destroying SS. Nor does he want to.
Biden has no clue how to fix SS. Neither does Janet Yellen. Medicare is the tougher fix.

Republicans don't want to do away with Social Security. They just want to make it fiscally sound and offer people alternatives. Fifty years ago I could see Social Security was a losing proposition, but I couldn't get out of it. If I could have invested my "contributions" in ironclad safe investments like government bonds I would be a multi-millionaire today and could live on the interest and pass a nest egg to my daughter when I die.
Ever heard of Venture Capital Insurance Fund of America? VCICA.com?
It's based how the FDIC works to insure your bank accounts and the premise that IPO's would pay an annual premium based on their growth to VCICA and that investors in the VCICA fund would be limited to a capital insured amount say $20,000. Then based on that amount, VCICA would pay the total amount in principal i.e. if over time you paid in $10,000 and the IPO goes busted... from the premium paid by the busted IPO over time, your $10,000 was insured.
Thus any small investor, would have stock in a venture capital up to $20,000 total investment and
if the IPO goes busted, the small investor would be paid the total principal they paid in. And like FDIC auditors would check the books of the IPO to determine following the right principles of management.

Only people who can afford to live in a nice neighborhood should be able to send their kids to the good public schools!

For the past 40 years, there has been disinvestment in public schools located in inner cities, especially in minority run cities. As the cities expand to the suburbs, the red states have disinvested in inner city infrastructure in favour of new schools, community centres and water treatment plants for the white suburbs.

Inner city schools have seen school resources fail to keep pace with need. Shared textbooks, and no computer labs. Reduced salaries for teachers. Fewer extra cirricular programs leading to university scholarships.

The USA is the one of 2 first world countries which ties its school funding to the property tax base. The other is Turkey. The USA also has the highest out of pocket costs to parents in the first world.

In the recent world testing in math and science, the USA finished 18th out of 81 nations, despite outspending everyone else. Canada was 8th.

Canadian, it’s a per student fund, the child isn’t there, no need for funds! Stay in Canada fool.

BTW, it’s called competition and is America! You want that kid, improve the program. The child matters more than the union

Simple question for you.
What entity in the USA has a double taxation principle?
Another simple question.
Do you think the filthy rich spend all their money on goods and services OR
do you think they spend part of it and then buried the rest of their cash in their backyard OR
hide it under their mattresses OR
is it possible that they INVEST it?
I use to do computing work for a yacht manufacturer who sold to wealthy people yachts.
How many of the yacht workers despised wealthy people, but rather liked the idea the wealthy wasted their wealth on the yachts the workers were paid to build?
Were you aware of this FACT?
U.S. companies have repatriated $1 trillion since tax overhaul
The affect on tax revenue that would have never been paid on the nearly $1 trillion that came back
due to the tax cut...
Investment banks and think tanks have estimated that U.S. corporations held $1.5 trillion to $2.5 trillion in offshore cash at the time the law was enacted. Before the overhaul, companies had an incentive to keep profits overseas because they owed a 35% tax when bringing it back and could defer payment by keeping funds offshore.
The law set a one-time 15.5% tax rate on cash and 8% on non-cash or illiquid assets.
The below chart shows how much future tax revenue coming from the $1 trillion that was repatriated.
