I mean, if they had such a headstart, surely their architecture, engineering practices and weaponry would have reflected their supposed technological superiority. Why were they still living in dwellings built from mud and grass? Surely they didn't accrue this vast wealth of knowledge and then do nothing with it for the next few thousand years.

The average asian IQ is around 100 to 107.

The average caucasian IQ is around 95 to 100.
