Yeah, conservatives are probably right. We don't need an infrastructure bill...

From a low tax era where people took care of themselves to a socialist era where the government pays people off is different. Government has become too expensive. They led the way in many ways but leaving the real visionaries take the reins now is our only hope of competing with the Chinese and others.
Who paid for the Interstate Highway system
Hoover Dam
TVA
Rural electrification.

I am not on the rich bandwagon. But how much is enough? If someone is taxed over 50% is that acceptable? It seems it is not enough to you. What is rich? I am not in that. Now earning low millions is different than higher millions and then billions. We do not separate these things.

Irrelevant question. If you want things you have to pay for them.

The state is eligible to apply for Federal funds to repair aged infrastructure

The Republican Representatives in Pennsylvania voted against it. Let them explain today’s collapse

”I didn’t think Infrastructure funding was necessary”
Do you listen to your own rants? Highways are secondary to Progs. For they represent not eco green crap.

I'd be interested in a photo of the size of the crowd attending this speech, if anyone can find one.

The occasional, faint applaud sounded rather.....oh...lacking? Not sure if they had a teleprompter directing them to/when to applaud or not, as they sometimes do at these types of events.

The explanation is simple: Since the state owns the bridge, then state inspectors are responsible for inspecting the bridge and, if necessary, closing it if it's unsafe. Clearly that didn't happen. State inspectors were either negligent in performing their jobs or they were intentionally fraudulent when declaring the bridge safe...

”I didn’t think Infrastructure funding was necessary”

Now, had every Republican voted in favor of the bill, this bridge still would've collapsed. This thing didn't become decrepit only after this bill was written. Bridges like that take a while to deteriorate. The current governor has been in office for seven years and, apparently, has done nothing...

My, how convenient, particularly when top Democrats excused themselves from appearing with Biden saying they had something, anything else to do.

I think we can all agree that the most useful spend of our tax money in that bill is the climate change mitigation. Not.

That stupid global warming canard used to be an almost comical distraction. I think it's losing steam, but still causing pain.

Pittsburgh is run by a radical African American mayor, who apparently has other "issues" like affirmative action to deal with. I wonder if the engineers he has looking at the bridges were chosen for their race or for their qualifications?
The mayor hired a polish firm and they thought that pieces falling off the bridge would make it lighter, so they gave it passing grades.

I remember Chuck and Nancy storming out of the President's office when he suggested infrastructure

Then both ran to microphones and lied, lied, and lied. The fact is they wanted a bill full of pork like the Biden bill is, and Trump wanted to rein in the pork.

The undynamic duo of Pelosi and Schumer don't give a shit, they're liars of the first rank.

However, they're wrong.

Wonder how the Congressional delegation from PA voted on the bills.
of course we need one…the gop tried getting one passed for years

the problem is the dems blocked it, and now they are in charge and trying to get a massive pork bill passed

the demafascist are holding infrastructure hostage and therein the american people

Anybody who thinks Biden's ten trillion dollar spending spree would have saved a bridge in Pittsburgh is a fool.
Sure would have

The bridge had been identified as a hazard in 2018. It would have been eligible for federal funding.

Republicans in Pennsylvania voted against that funding
