There is plenty of reason - mainly respect for the system and acting like an adult. The boycotting members of Congress are right to protest against Trump as a person. Trump’s campaign was defined by divisiveness: He insulted Mexican American, African Americans, women, the disabled, and, in a video recorded before his run for office, he seemed to be confessing to committing sexual assault. Unless you are a Trump supported, there is little reason to go his inauguration.Think about the effect on climate change. Their flatulance will be contained by the Capital climate change apparatus. Heroes all. They will not be missed.
Growing list of Democrats NOT attending President-elect Trump’s inauguration; WI lawmaker on the list
Here is the interesting part to me - people that demand that Trump is unable to act presidential and he acts like a petulant child are, themselves, acting like petulant children. The core breakdown of politics in this country right now is how we are utterly divided and unable to find any real middle ground in the last 16 years. This is simply a continuation and worsening of that trend - and people are applauding it.
It can and will get a lot worse until that reality is recognized and people start working to rectify it.
