Psh small price to pay to avoid waiting times and background checks to buy guns.

When thieves and black market participants adhere to background checks and waiting periods, come get me.

Why would they turn to the black market when it's so easy for them to buy legally?

Is someone going to wake up tomorrow and think "Oh SHIT I have to buy a gun RIGHT NOW or evil psychos will be able to kill me!!!" And then because they have to wait a few days they'll die?

Or, in a much more SANE scenario, maybe they have to wait a week and the psycho doesn't get a gun, and the good person is able to buy the gun after a short wait.

But nah... 74 school shootings is nothing. I only have 30 minutes of free time before lunch to get to the gun store and pickup my rifle after all

Each one is a tragedy, but statistically speaking and in terms of Risk to a person of a shooting happening, it technically is nothing.

You get more deaths and injuries from food allergies than you get from shootings in schools.

Spot on. I come from a family of hunters. We had several freezers in the cellar where we had elk, venison and sometimes moose. (Lots of salmon, too)

I don't remember my dad or brothers waving their rifles around in local restaurants. They were kept locked in the truck when they were in town, not even displayed in the rear view mirror.

One of my brothers is certified in sharp shooting and holds several records in WA state, but even he is repelled by this attitude nurtured and hand-fed to the fucking Ammo-sexuals by the NRA.

They knew, and Helena Douchebag doesn't seem to grasp this, that the only way they could achieve a high number of kills was to use guns. Not knives, baseball bats, throwing rocks, or walking in with a bow and arrow.

Kleybold and Harris (Columbine) were smart enough to actually develop and test bombs, but on the day of reckoning they actually only had time to run from one room to another and then the library where they could spray the room and hit 30 kids in less than 3 minutes and without having to move from where they were standing.
