911 Anniversary--are we safer now?

Emotional response is no substitute for critical thinking.

Remember the Alamo!

Remember the Maine!

Go fuck yourself.

Tomorrow is the 12th anniversary of the Muslimes terrorist attack against us. More than 10,000 innocent Americans were killed and/or injured. We are not safer now. Muslimes have committed more than 20,000 deadly terror attacks SINCE 911. They are unstoppable.

Mr Zionut, Sir:

Interesting question. Let me put on my "critical thinking cap"

No we are not. In 1994' when those jerks first attempted to bring down those towers, most knew that there had been a direct change in the way the US old, and would, do business from that day forward.

Unfortunately, the short-sighted Bill Clinton took it as a "one time" event. It was not, it was only the beginning. When Bill Clinton had the opportunity to take down Bin Laden, he punted the ball. THIS was the pivotal moment in our history.

From that moment on, our fate was sealed. If Bin Laden had been taken out then, 9/11 would most likely not have happened. However, our failure to act emboldened the terrorist and the rest is history.

Bush was elected, 9/11 happened and we became bogged down in 2 wars. Meanwhile, Terrorists huddle in caves, little villages and bergs and plan for the future. We have lost too many young men and women to these wars - most living their youth in continuous deployments and an even larger number returning home without arms and legs.

Are we safer today? Only a fool would buy into that thinking. George Santayana was, indeed, correct. Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it"

America, like most other countries, is very fond of "forgetting the past" in an effort to soothe their collective souls. These radical Islamists are COUNTING on that fact.

How's that for "critical thinking"??

The first attack on the WTC was in 1993, a few weeks into his first term as President. The legislation he introduced was watered down by an unholy alliance between the GOP and the ACLU which included a number of measures passed after 9-11.

I'd give you a C, because they are waiting for us to drop our guard.

This was the exact moment that my teacher had turned on the TV. Holy smokes, a ton of memories. ALL ABOARD THE FEELSMOBILE!

I called my wife from the office, she turned on the TV a few seconds before the second plane hit. I'll never forget. She screamed...."Oh My God, those people......."

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. Do you know how many speeches on the threat of international terrorism President Clinton gave during his 8 years? His biggest mistake was not to bomb the shit out of the terrorist camps in Afghanistan after Oct 12, 2000 and give military support to the Northern Alliance to overthrow the Taliban.

I do not share your hatred of Muslims just for the sake of being Muslim. Who exactly do you think has taken our country that we need to take it back from?

I don't hate Muslimes for being Muslime: I hate the ones who support terrorism (most of them!) This country has been taken over by criminal aliens who demand rights, housing, medical, dental, welfare, jobs, education etc and Hussein complies for votes. Muslimes are demanding Sharia Law, elected their fellow Muslimes to Congress, the Senate and then finally the White House. Blacks/gangs have taken over many cities and reduced neighborhoods to ghettos. Liberals voted Santa Claus into office. Get your head out of the sand. This is not your grandma's America anymore.

The fact that the War Party is planning to intervene in Syria should tell us that the 09/11 lesson has been ignored or forgotten !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No. His biggest mistake was failing to take out UBL when he had the chance.

His other mistake was having his FBI chasing John Gotti rather than listening to the warnings about a possible attack. They were more interested in his arrest than anything else. His FBI ignored John O'Neil's warning that something was up. Hence 9-11.

BULLSHIT. We were always safe. People need to quit watching their god damned TV's! The media is the problem. Always scarring the shit out of people, giving the government cover to strip them of their civil rights and civil liberties. Terrorism was NEVER a problem for us. We have only been brain washed and conditioned to believe it has been. This has been done to take away our freedom.

Startling fact:

b-kidgun050513.jpg

Number of persons killed on American soil so far this year by terrorists: 3.

Number of persons killed on American soil so far this year by toddlers: 5.

– You are 17,600 times more likely to die from heart disease than from a terrorist attack

– You are 12,571 times more likely to die from cancer than from a terrorist attack

— You are 11,000 times more likely to die in an airplane accident than from a terrorist plot involving an airplane

— You are 1048 times more likely to die from a car accident than from a terrorist attack

–You are 404 times more likely to die in a fall than from a terrorist attack

— You are 87 times more likely to drown than die in a terrorist attack

– You are 13 times more likely to die in a railway accident than from a terrorist attack

–You are 12 times more likely to die from accidental suffocation in bed than from a terrorist attack

–You are 9 times more likely to choke to death on your own vomit than die in a terrorist attack

–You are 8 times more likely to be killed by a police officer than by a terrorist

–You are 8 times more likely to die from accidental electrocution than from a terrorist attack

– You are 6 times more likely to die from hot weather than from a terrorist attack
Do you even know the difference between passive and active?

Of course.

"Those who would sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither"

— Benjamin Franklin

Considering the statistics I have quoted, and considering Bush junior's ill fated logic, "They hate us because of our freedom," then did giving away so much of our freedom make us the victors here, or did it make the terrorists become the victors? If we have only lost 16 citizens to terrorists, does that justify the opportunity costs, the material costs, and the real costs of what we have spent since that day? And the REAL liberty lost? I think most would say, most definitely NOT!

We have not won the war on terror, the terrorists have won. They destroyed a once freedom loving people. We used to be care free. We used to love our freedom. Now we cower in fear. We are hyper partisan. We argue and hate each other and THINK there is some boogie man out to get us. We don't realize there is a sinister corporate elite that has done this to us. An elite that has manipulated it all. We care more about tearing each other down than looking for solutions.

Me? I'm just as guilty. I get so tired of the lies. What else can I do?

so you don't understand.

Terrorism is an active agent looking for our demise.

The list you provided are passive agents that are not actively seeking to kill us because they have no motive.

The poster known as "Surfer" is not a progressive Darkwind, he's more of a far RW radical reactionary than anything else.

Just an FYI.
Just for your information. I don't have a side.

Wrong is wrong.
Then act like it Darkwind. Act like it.

That is all.
I act like it every single day. Simply because you disagree with Me does not put Me on a side.

I have very definite beliefs and I've proven them right and held them for a very long time.

I take take My position, and if it disagree with the GOP, and the supporters of the GOP, that is their problem, not Mine.

I have taken Bush to task, I have taken Boner to task, I have taken any number of Republican leaders to task for failing to live up to their principles.

The same cannot be said of progressives.

Agreed. It is why we should never stop the search for the truth. We should stop being manipulated. We should stop our war culture and stop being manipulated by the elites.

I find it odd how the RT channel on Youtube had this particular video pulled. Then, what do you know, it was mirrored all over the site. Good thing, it was probably their most important broadcast of the past week. Lord knows our MSM is worthless.

NO, you don't understand.

Terrorism is a fantasy. It is a desperation of the thrid world, funded by our cultural, financial, and political elites to justify their political power over the poorer classes in the more prosperous nations. You only exhibit your ignorance when you make posts such as these. I would be laughing my head off at your ignorance if it weren't so tragic how you have fallen for their games. Now you support their wars. You support giving up your own freedom, letting them practically rape you at traffic stops and airports.

I have read famous literature from the fifties, sixties and seventies that predicted all of this happening. You probably don't even read at all. You don't even know the nature of power or of man. To you, you believe in this fantasy, this dystopian nightmare that our so called democracy has degraded to. Sad, so sad. Why not go READ a book? Start with Orwell's 1984 or Animal Farm. Follow up with Huxley's A Brave New World. Round it out with Kafka's The Trial. And for good measure why not read Camus, The Plague or The Stranger? It wouldn't hurt to read some Machiavelli, Clausewitz and Sun Tzu while you are at it.

It's a fantasy, it doesn't exist. It is YOUR choice to live in the nightmare, or to wake up. WE are the one's that fund both sides of this paradigm of evil.

Terrorism is a fantasy??

It sure as hell has killed a hell of a lot of people for being a fantasy.

Seems the fantasy attacked the American Embassy in Afghanistan yesterday.

Seems the fantasy killed several people at the Embassy. Of course that must be a fantasy as well.

You my friend are a flamming idiot and thats no fantasy.

Marginally.

We're only safer because if someone sees an unattended backpack or briefcase in a public gathering spot like a subway station or museum, they'll call the authorities.

A lot of the money spent on preparing for the next attack has been wasted. Anytown, USA was going to buy a firetruck to replace an aging one so to do so, they were going to increase water taxes by a few cents. Instead, they got a DHS grant to improve response and bought the truck with the grant. When the attack (or if the attack) happens in 2023, the truck they bought will be working on it's 2nd decade of service.

We're a more vigilant society and that is the only real improvement in safety. It's a big thing, to be sure, but if there ever was a problem that just "throwing money" at couldn't fix; this is one of them.
