Tomorrow is the 12th anniversary of the Muslimes terrorist attack against us. More than 10,000 innocent Americans were killed and/or injured. We are not safer now. Muslimes have committed more than 20,000 deadly terror attacks SINCE 911. They are unstoppable.![]()
Interesting question. Let me put on my "critical thinking cap"
No we are not. In 1994' when those jerks first attempted to bring down those towers, most knew that there had been a direct change in the way the US old, and would, do business from that day forward.
Unfortunately, the short-sighted Bill Clinton took it as a "one time" event. It was not, it was only the beginning. When Bill Clinton had the opportunity to take down Bin Laden, he punted the ball. THIS was the pivotal moment in our history.
From that moment on, our fate was sealed. If Bin Laden had been taken out then, 9/11 would most likely not have happened. However, our failure to act emboldened the terrorist and the rest is history.
Bush was elected, 9/11 happened and we became bogged down in 2 wars. Meanwhile, Terrorists huddle in caves, little villages and bergs and plan for the future. We have lost too many young men and women to these wars - most living their youth in continuous deployments and an even larger number returning home without arms and legs.
Are we safer today? Only a fool would buy into that thinking. George Santayana was, indeed, correct. Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it"
America, like most other countries, is very fond of "forgetting the past" in an effort to soothe their collective souls. These radical Islamists are COUNTING on that fact.
How's that for "critical thinking"??

I called my wife from the office, she turned on the TV a few seconds before the second plane hit. I'll never forget. She screamed...."Oh My God, those people......."

The first attack on the WTC was in 1993, a few weeks into his first term as President. The legislation he introduced was watered down by an unholy alliance between the GOP and the ACLU which included a number of measures passed after 9-11.
I'd give you a C, because they are waiting for us to drop our guard.

Typo by an old man, now corrected. Keep your "C". I need nothing from you. I stand by my statement.
BlindBoo said:I do not share your hatred of Muslims just for the sake of being Muslim. Who exactly do you think has taken our country that we need to take it back from?

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. Do you know how many speeches on the threat of international terrorism President Clinton gave during his 8 years? His biggest mistake was not to bomb the shit out of the terrorist camps in Afghanistan after Oct 12, 2000 and give military support to the Northern Alliance to overthrow the Taliban.
so you don't understand.Do you even know the difference between passive and active?BULLSHIT. We were always safe. People need to quit watching their god damned TV's! The media is the problem. Always scarring the shit out of people, giving the government cover to strip them of their civil rights and civil liberties. Terrorism was NEVER a problem for us. We have only been brain washed and conditioned to believe it has been. This has been done to take away our freedom.
Startling fact:

"Those who would sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither"
Benjamin Franklin
Considering the statistics I have quoted, and considering Bush junior's ill fated logic, "They hate us because of our freedom," then did giving away so much of our freedom make us the victors here, or did it make the terrorists become the victors? If we have only lost 16 citizens to terrorists, does that justify the opportunity costs, the material costs, and the real costs of what we have spent since that day? And the REAL liberty lost? I think most would say, most definitely NOT!
We have not won the war on terror, the terrorists have won. They destroyed a once freedom loving people. We used to be care free. We used to love our freedom. Now we cower in fear. We are hyper partisan. We argue and hate each other and THINK there is some boogie man out to get us. We don't realize there is a sinister corporate elite that has done this to us. An elite that has manipulated it all. We care more about tearing each other down than looking for solutions.
Me? I'm just as guilty. I get so tired of the lies. What else can I do?

I act like it every single day. Simply because you disagree with Me does not put Me on a side. Then act like it Darkwind. Act like it.Just for your information. I don't have a side. The poster known as "Surfer" is not a progressive Darkwind, he's more of a far RW radical reactionary than anything else.
Just an FYI.
Wrong is wrong.
That is all.
NO, you don't understand.so you don't understand.
Terrorism is an active agent looking for our demise.
The list you provided are passive agents that are not actively seeking to kill us because they have no motive.
Terrorism is a fantasy

Terrorism is a fantasy. It is a desperation of the thrid world, funded by our cultural, financial, and political elites to justify their political power over the poorer classes in the more prosperous nations. You only exhibit your ignorance when you make posts such as these. I would be laughing my head off at your ignorance if it weren't so tragic how you have fallen for their games. Now you support their wars. You support giving up your own freedom, letting them practically rape you at traffic stops and airports.
I have read famous literature from the fifties, sixties and seventies that predicted all of this happening. You probably don't even read at all. You don't even know the nature of power or of man. To you, you believe in this fantasy, this dystopian nightmare that our so called democracy has degraded to. Sad, so sad. Why not go READ a book? Start with Orwell's 1984 or Animal Farm. Follow up with Huxley's A Brave New World. Round it out with Kafka's The Trial. And for good measure why not read Camus, The Plague or The Stranger? It wouldn't hurt to read some Machiavelli, Clausewitz and Sun Tzu while you are at it.
It's a fantasy, it doesn't exist. It is YOUR choice to live in the nightmare, or to wake up. WE are the one's that fund both sides of this paradigm of evil.
