And that folks should be put to death for touching the skin of a dead pig.

So do you think all college football players who play the skill positions should be put to death as well?
No, at least Christians and all other non-Jews. Actually, why are they unclean? And, why should we not touch dead animals? Simple, they are unclean and carry germs. Perhaps back then, those that can kill. Today, a football made out of pigskins is not contaminated with germs except for those other humans have and the ground. But, if you want to stay strict to the letter of the law, then Jews have to stop playing football. Not Christians for we believe the Jesus fulfilled the law of Moses and ended many of the dietary laws of His day. Also, with the new covenant that Jesus instituted, those old Kosher laws are replaced by the saving Grace of Christ. "He made all things clean unto him" in those days. Could Jesus come back and establishe a Prophet to communicate who institutes a new dietary law? Of course. No one can stop God from doing so.

Makes as much sense as god--who loves you*--sending you to hell if you don't apologize to her.

A church has every right to exercise discipline within its flock. And if that means expelling members, even ministry leaders, who are living in sin as GOD defines it, then it must happen. The reason is not to condemn the person, but so that person living in sin can be brought to repentance and restored.

You are an insufferable liar. Nowhere in Leviticus 11 does it say anything about being "put to death" for touching the skin of a dead pig.

Leviticus 11 | KJV Bible | YouVersion

God's laws about which animals were clean and unclean were intended to be a test of the people's obedience, just as Adam was forbidden to eat of the tree of knowledge. The laws were to teach them self-denial, and to be able to control their appetites. Those laws were also to keep the Israelites distinct from other nations, some of which regarded those animals as objects of superstition and idolatry. They were also given to protect the Israelites from succumbing to diseases.

The word "carcase" is the same as that translated "that which dieth of itself"

(Leviticus 17:15; Deuteronomy 14:21)

So of course you wouldn't want to eat or come in contact with a diseased animal that died on its own.

Yeah, that's roughly the same thing.
Yes, the analogy fits. Have you ever been a policeperson, attorney, judge or jailor? Then you understand even more so taking breaking laws to another level. Imagine God establishing a real Plan for us. In order to have laws, He would also have to have punishments as well. If the end game is exaltation and eternal life in Heaven with God, then the punishment would have to be equal in the opposite way leading to Perdition and being with the son of Perdition, Satan (Lucifer) eternally in damnation.

Nope, repent or go to Hell.
