A history of Presidents, mostly democrats paying homage to Andrew Jackson

Donald J. Trump, our most divisive president in our history, loves Andrew Jackson.

Well it was interesting Trump chose the Hermitage to roll out his campaign rally. Unfortunately he made it a rally instead of using it to buttress his healthcare policy, which unfortunately he doesn't seem to have a policy about.....

Jackson in many ways left an entirely new country behind him. One that belonged to working men and not an born to riches elite. As you say he was one of the most devisive.

I didn't have much time to watch morning joe this am, and that sucked because John Meachum was on for a while, and he's the best Jackson biographer. I should have tivoed it.

Obozo was by far the most divisive president in the history of our nation. ....

Jackson is the patron saint of Democrats.
They have dinners every year in his honor, in just about every county in this country.

The great Indian fighter and ethnic cleaner is the perfect role model for our "so called" President.

Trump, our most divisive president ever, loves Jackson.
You already said that on post #2

Hint: repeating something doesn't make it true. ....
Yet you repeat false things all the time. You know Trump loves Jackson. Jackson then Lincoln now Trump have been our most divisive presidents, you know.
That is the interesting thing. Jefferson was reviled by the Federalists. Lincoln - his election gave us our worst war that still leaves scars. FDR - he said he reveled in the money folks hate. JFK - they shot him and the South cheered ... unitl the dumb racists saw who was next. Reagan anyone? RonnyRayGuns.

But successful ones generally rally the country. IF Trump really likes Jackson (and I thnk it's really Bannon who has the man crush) it's because Jackson didn't compromise too much. He did what he wanted, and the laws be damned. That isn't gonna work anymore. But there's a nationist, white working class pride, anti global trade, protectionist, anti-eastern elite ... there's a comparison.

3rd time isn't a charm jake. Better go back to selling tit cups.
tyrone, you hero, Trump, is indeed the most divisive president of our history. Nothing changes that. Trump pays tribute to Jackson, even put his portrait up, you numbskull.

Jackson was a Revolutionary War veteran having served at age 13 and captured by British soldiers who "abused" (raped?) him. As a general "Old Hickory" Andrew Jackson defeated the British at the Battle of New Orleans and ended the Brit threat to the Colonies during the War of 1812. What's not to like? Jackson was a bigot when it came to Slaves and Native Americans but so were presidents who came before him and after him. (old joke) Who is buried in Grant's tomb?

You carry Andrew Jackson's image in your pocket/wallet. If you are lucky, more than one.

I grew up in Oklahoma around a lot of Indians.

Some refused to carry or accept the $20 bill. .....

The stupidity and hypocrisy in certain circles has no bounds.

I bet those same injuns have no problem accepting $20 bills from anyone in their casinos. Or from somebody buying their tax free smokes. Or booze.

Of course, they have not to worry about getting paid for honest work with Andrew Jackson $20 bills..
