ACLU on trump like white on rice

The ACLU is suing the city of San Francisco on behalf of Kate Steinle for harboring an illegal alien felon.....right?

No?

Why not? Didn't she have her civil rights violated? Where is the ACLU?

The city of San Franciso violated federal law and harbored an illegal alien convicted felon that had been deported 6 times.

That piece of shit murdered Kate Steinle. San Francisco should be culpable and the ACLU should sue the city on behalf of Kate Steinle.

There's only one version, dumbass.
How SELECTIVE the alt right are
Pointing out that there's only one version of reality is being "selective?"

Do you really think there are multiple versions of the Constitution?
After 1789 you'd think some changes are needed

There have been some changes. You know the drill if you want to make more.
How do we do that billy when republicans insist on living in the past?

You follow procedures. If you fail, go home and have a drink and accept that you don't have the support.

NEW YORK — In response to Donald Trump’s election as president of the United States, Anthony D. Romero, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union, had the following statement:

“For nearly 100 years, the American Civil Liberties Union has been the nation’s premier defender of freedom and justice for all, no matter who is president. Our role is no different today.

“President-elect Trump, as you assume the nation’s highest office, we urge you to reconsider and change course on certain campaign promises you have made. These include your plan to amass a deportation force to remove 11 million undocumented immigrants; ban the entry of Muslims into our country and aggressively surveil them; punish women for accessing abortion; reauthorize waterboarding and other forms of torture; and change our nation’s libel laws and restrict freedom of expression.

“These proposals are not simply un-American and wrong-headed, they are unlawful and unconstitutional. They violate the First, Fourth, Fifth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments. If you do not reverse course and instead endeavor to make these campaign promises a reality, you will have to contend with the full firepower of the ACLU at every step. Our staff of litigators and activists in every state, thousands of volunteers, and millions of card-carrying supporters are ready to fight against any encroachment on our cherished freedoms and rights.

“One thing is certain: we will be eternally vigilant every single day of your presidency and when you leave the Oval Office, we will do the same with your successor.

The ACLU released its analysis of candidate Trump’s policy proposals in July, which can be found at: Donald Trump: A One-Man Constitutional Crisis

The ACLU and the SPLC are two democrat terrorist organizations that will not do well in the coming years.....

Other than the 2nd Amendment, I have little to say negative about the ACLU. I believe they are wrong about the meaning of the 2nd Amendment, but I agree with them on the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, and many others. For the 2nd, we have the NRA and other groups. For me, the ACLU defense of the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments is vital. Because no one else is questioning the spying going on by the FBI, NSA, CIA, and any other Alphabet Soup agency out there. So I sincerely hope that they continue doing the work they have been on those rights. Because I don't think we can allow them to erode much more before the right to privacy is limited to what is in your brain, and that is probably not going to last too much longer either. Seriously.

Stingray's to scan your phone, Carnivore to screen your email, and everything else we've learned from Snowden and the rest of them makes me hope that the ACLU has a little more success in the near future.

In the 1940s, Baldwin led the campaign to purge the ACLU of Communist Party members.[5]

In 1947, General Douglas MacArthur invited him to Japan to foster the growth of civil liberties in that country. In Japan, he founded the Japan Civil Liberties Union, and the Japanese government awarded him the Order of the Rising Sun. In 1948, Germany and Austria invited him for similar purposes. He was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1951.[6]

Later years[edit]
President Jimmy Carter awarded Baldwin the Medal of Freedom on 16 January 1981.
