Actually, when the Republican Party was founded, when it was still the party of Abraham Lincoln — it had many socialists within its ranks. There were also radical abolitionists, “free soilers” and hosts of revolutionary “German 48ers” who fought with Karl Marx in the German Revolution. Yes. That was the GOP that stood for “free labor, free soil, free men,” freed and armed black slaves and fought and defeated the Confederacy (led by white Southern slave owning Democrats).

Learn history and it may just keep you from supporting treason to our Constitution and our Republic.
