I am not going to say whether or not they should have played the song, I just wanted to explain that important difference between sex on tv and a graduation song.
Let's see: You can choose not to go to the graduation. You can bring your iPod and listen to uplifiting rap. You can hum another song. You can sit there and chant to yourself: Christian music is evil and offensive to me, and I'm not listening, la la la. Like this:
On the other hand, sex on TV and porn on the Internet, day in and day out, 24/7, is going to be seen, period. Even the most vigilant parent can't prevent it, unless they raise a hermit, because there are always friends' houses where the mom/dad are not so on top of things.
But more importantly, the fact remains that it is hypocritical to expect that only the things you are offended by should be banned.
