Armed Citizen Holds Burglar At Gunpoint!

Luxemburg does not allow private gun ownership at all. Yet they have a murder rate 9 time greater than Germany, and Germany allows some private gun ownership.

I'd be perfectly fine if we had gun control laws like Germany. Ones were you actually have to show you have a legitimate need for a gun.

For Luxembourg, Here are the numbers of Gun Homicides.

Guns in Luxembourg Firearms gun law and gun control

2009: 310
2008: 210 11
2007: 1
2006: 111
2005: 110
2003: 1
2002: 1

So essentially, after years of having one homicide a year, they had two years when that went up. Yup. Must be an epidemic of rampaging criminals.

Or Luxembourg is a small country with only only half a million people in it.

3 murders out of half a million people? That's actually pretty awesome.

The first part is, the 2nd part is about the people retaining the right to arms to make the militias possible. Again, you have lost this argument before, keeping it up only shows your stupidity.

Okay, since we don't have militias anymore, no reason for you to be allowed to own a gun. That works for me.
US Law ESTABLISHES that we do in fact have 2 militias. The organized and the Unorganized. The unorganized is EVERY male citizen or person intending to become a citizen that is 17 to 45 years old.

and honestly that should be changed to all citizens 17 and up.

You're right. You can't fix stupid. You can fix the stupid gun laws that allow people who aren't trained experts wiht a real need to have them.

So from the angry husband to the freak who thinks he's the Joker, these are people who shouldn't have guns and shouldn't have access to guns.
No way in hell should you have a gun but we are a shall issue state, without the problems that make you poop your undies. And the need doesn't come up weeks in advance every time so we'll continue to make those decisions, not insane gun grabbers.

Guy, it's only a matter of time before a combination of the majority of us who don't have guns and common sense gun owners get sick of the shit of you gun nuts prepping for the Zombie Apocalypse.

At your age Joe, you'll likely never see it.

Guns are in about half the households in the US so your majority only exists in your demented mind. I'm prepped for assholes, not zombies. Take your meds.

Veteran's .45 frightens off thieves, The Gaston Gazette, Gaston County, N.C. 12/05/14
Sixty-eight-year-old disabled veteran Joseph Sapienza was at home in Gastonia, N.C. when he heard a suspicious noise at his front door. Sapienza retrieved a .45-caliber pistol, placed it in a holster attached to a walker he uses to get around, and opened the door. There were two masked men on his porch attempting to get inside. Recalling what happened next, Sapienza told a reporter, “When they saw the .45, one ran one way up the street, and the other went the other way.” Sapienza believes he may have been targeted by the criminals because of his disability.

Your figure of 32,000 is suspect again. I think you used the figure of 19,500 suicides. The number of murders with guns in the last 5 or 6 years has been under 10,000, with an average number (2007-2012) of 9,200. That comes to 28,700. How did the other 3,000 people die from guns?

Actually, the average is 11,500 murders. Any other number is bullshit. Done.

Your proclamation of "Done" is meaningless. If you average the number of gun murders from 2007 to 2012, you get 9,201. Of course, I am using the numbers provided by the recognized authority on crime in the US. So when you average the actual numbers, you get the 9,201.

Bullshit. You wanted it to be 11,500 and called it that. The actual average of the years 2007-2012 is 9,201.

And the FBI keeps very accurate numbers. To claim that an anti-gun nutter groups keeps better and more accurate records than the US Justice dept is ridiculous.

11,500 is a number I've seen in a bunch of different sources.

The CDC puts the number at 11,068

So does this Washington Post article

Five myths about gun control - The Washington Post

So, no, it's probably as good of a number as the FBI's numbers. Again, keep in mind, the NRA works very hard to keep the government from actually studying this issue. It's bad for business.

The NRA does not have any control over the FBI and the Dept of Justice's accounting. That is ridiculous.

NRA-ILA Armed Citizen

So here's the problem. The NRA collects these stories, probably actually pays someone to google every day to find them. Sweet gig, if you can get it.

and they only found 40 stories like this since June.

Now keep in mind, you guys are claiming anywhere from 65,000 to 3,000,000 DGU's a year.

You'd think you'd be able to find more than 40 stories in a 6 month period.

Russia has a much higher murder rate that the US does. 4 times higher, despite the fact that they guns are strictly regulated.

Russia is a country which has effectively collapsed as a state. Is this really your best argument?

Was that the only country I mentioned?

And the recent economic downturn notwithstanding, Russia's murder rates are not new. They have been much higher than ours for years.

Please find where I rejected their numbers? I would love to see that post. Or will we just chalk this up to more of your lying?

Guy, it's not a recent downturn. YOu did hear about the fall of the Berlin Wall, right? Collapse of the USSR? Did these things not get reported to you in Cleetusville?

The NRA does not have any control over the FBI and the Dept of Justice's accounting. That is ridiculous.

The NRA keeps the CDC from studying the issue after Kellerman blew the lid off the lie. I'm sure folks in the FBI took notice.

And does this effect how the FBI tracks murders? No, it does not. Once again you try and blame a source and then expect everyone to accept your sources when they are obviously biased and suspect.
