Atheists have no Constitutional Rights

I was not aware that the United States of America had established a religion or encourages any religious practices.
"Religion, as well as reason, confirms the soundness of those principles on which our government has been founded and its rights asserted." --Thomas Jefferson to P. H. Wendover, 1815. ME 14:283

"Among the most inestimable of our blessings, also, is that... of liberty to worship our Creator in the way we think most agreeable to His will; a liberty deemed in other countries incompatible with good government and yet proved by our experience to be its best support." --Thomas Jefferson: Reply to John Thomas et al., 1807. ME 16:291
How do you go from those quotes to the denial of rights of atheists? Why would you want to deny rights to anyone?

Those of you that know me know that I'm no troll.
A troll would have started this topic and ran.

And, yes, I know that even the Atheists are entitled to the same rights as I am.

My main point, though is how Atheists claim a moral entitlement to something
The first reply to this thread was quick to bring up morality.
Since then the knee-jerk reaction has basically been "No fair"

Where do Atheists glean what is moral or fair without The Guide Book?

Sure did take off as a topic, though

Just loving me some good enteraction

It took off as a topic, yes. And your brand of religiously inspired fascism caused you to have your arse handed to you.

Yep. Next up he'll be telling us that only blue-eyed blonds have constitutional rights.

That's green eyed brunets, ma'am.
Thanks. No vote for you!

Handed to me?
Hardly

Sorry, you can't convince me that a gelatinous pool of goo gave you your inalienable rights
If that is true, every living thing, whether insect, virus or lizard has these same rights

Nope.
Those traits were endowed to people by their Creator
:p

The constitution.
What point of reference did the framers of that document derive the idea that we have any rights?
It has to be based on a moral compass and that compass didn't form in a volcanic carbon puddle
They pulled it out of their asses. There are no God given rights or Creator (the word they used) given rights. There are only rights we give to ourselves.

Dude......the "guidebook" was written by other people for all anyone knows, and morals are pretty easily arrived at after some careful reflection and critical thinking.

I cant believe any functioning brain really assumes religion has the market on morals cornered.

That can only be an argument were it true that atheists possess no morals. But they do. Their morals are simply not based on a higher power.

There ya go.
That's the discussion I was wanting.
Just had to get some blood pumping first.

What is our basis for moral behavior?
How can something be bad without a reference point for good?

If there is no "sin" why can't I just take your car, just because I want to, (never mind it being against the law as the law had to have a reference point)

But morals do not need to be based on the concept of "sin" at all.

Most all humans see it as morally wrong to kill another human, regardless of their position on sin.

Read your various bibles. The actions of your gawds are the most cruel and capricious. Interestingly, I would like to see anyone use the primary Judeo gawds as a role model for moral behavior. Just make a list of the things Yahweh has done, and then go on and try to live according to that morality. That is the example you want to emulate?

The most cruel and evil villain in all of literature is named Yahweh.

Religious fascism. It's a wonderful thing.
