Attacks on Religion: The Liberal Drumbeat

I went to a private school, but don't let the facts get in the way, you haven't so far. :D

looks like you chose the wrong one, huh?
Why? Because I graduated not believing in invisible beings?

No.

Because you were taught that government school is correct in attacking children's beliefs, and because you never learned about the United States Constitution.

Of course, it may not be the fault of the private school: you might simply be a fool.
Teaching facts over fiction is what a school is all about.

Well, then......consider the USMB your school, and I'll teach your the facts you never learned in school:

The context that explains the antipathy to religion by the Left, is the following:

For an historical perspective....two eras of American history stand out.

This nation was founded by religious individuals, based on a religious foundation, ....

4. First:
"The reason our revolution was so different from the violent, homicidal chaos of the French version was the dominant American culture was Anglo-Saxon and Christian. “52 of the 56 signers of the declaration and 50 to 52 of the 55 signers of the Constitution were orthodox Trinitarian Christians.” David Limbaugh

a. Believers in the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, or, as they would be known today, “an extremist Fundementalist hate group.” Coulter

b. "The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were... the general principles of Christianity. ...I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God." - Letter to Thomas Jefferson, June 28, 1813

5. Then, the explanation for the great sea change in America:

All of that changed during the Roosevelt Administration, when a widely popular President embraced communist Joseph Stalin, and provided a home for communism in this nation.

a. "There is no God:
This concept is an essential element of Marxism. As Lenin stated: "Atheism is a natural and inseparable portion of Marxism, of the theory and practice of Scientific Socialism." If God exists and is in supreme command of the universe, He possesses discretionary power, and His actions cannot always be calculated accurately in advance. The whole edifice of Marxism collapses.

When Marx and the Communists deny the existence of God, they simultaneously deny the authority of the Ten Commandments, the existence of absolute standards of right and wrong, of good and evil; and man is left on the playing fields of the universe without a referee, without a book of rules. The winning side in any conflict can decide on what rules of conduct to apply. Morality is the creation of the victor. The Schwarz Report | Essays

PoliticalChic is making excellent points as usual... don't let this gadfly bother you. We actually all need to start reporting him every time he post something in violation of board rules. He's running around being a troll in every thread, not contributing anything more than antagonism. People like this are too stupid to argue their points and seek to shut down the debate instead.

Socialists, backed by little useful idiots like Mudda, have been destroying our education system for decades. They want to strip God from our lives because that's the first objective when you're trying to establish communism. You can't properly worship State until you get rid of your pesky God.

And here we have the usual explanation for Liberal/Leftist beliefs?

"... I don't read..."

No it doesn't.

You wrote "Sure, no better way to encourage critical thinking than having to advocate against your own beliefs."

Smacks of sarcasm.

Where is your response to this?
"Anyone believe that that assignment was designed "to encourage critical thinking" rather than advance a political agenda?

Eh, that is my reponse

"Sure" means, "Yes, I believe that" and the rest is the reason why I believe that
Has anyone ever seen 'critical thinking assignments' in government schools dealing with the Left’s love affair with Marxism, Socialism, Racialism, the slaughter of 100 million during the last century, the Command Economy, or public debt?"

Your lack of response proves my point.

You don't have point, probably because no one ever taught you critical thinking skills

6. "Congressman: IRS asked pro-life group about 'the content of their prayers'

During a House Ways and Means Committee hearing today, Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill., grilled outgoing IRS commissioner Steven Miller about the IRS targeting a pro-life group in Iowa.

“Their question, specifically asked from the IRS to the Coalition for Life of Iowa: ‘Please detail the content of the members of your organization’s prayers,’" Schock declared.

“Would that be an inappropriate question to a 501 c3 applicant?” asked Schock. “The content of one’s prayers?”

Fromtheir report:

Coalition for Life of Iowa found itself in the IRS’s crosshairs when the group applied for tax exempt status in October 2008. Nearly ten months of interrogation about the group’s opposition to Planned Parenthood included a demand by a Ms. Richards from the IRS’ Cincinnati office unlawfully insisted that all board members sign a sworn declaration promising not to picket/protest Planned Parenthood.

Further questioning by the IRS requested detailed information about the content of the group’s prayer meetings, educational seminars, and signs their members hold outside Planned Parenthood."

The assignment was graded....and to pass, a student had to deny her faith.

First of all, the statement of "There is a God" was one of many statements that the students were asked to identify as Fact, Opinion, or Common Assertion.

There is no way a student fails an assignment for getting one question wrong. Nor is stating that "There is a God" is an opinion the same as denying one's faith. I know for a fact there is a God. However, if I was asked to do this assignment, I would have no hesitation about marking "opinion" because I know that God cannot be proven by physical evidence which is what qualifies as a "fact" these days.

Personal observation often qualifies as a "fact" in court. Therefore, if I noted "There is a God" as fact due to my personal observation, and the teacher marked it wrong, then my argument to get the score reversed would be that she would either have to agree all eye-witness testimony in court is merely opinion or take my word that I have eye-witness testimony.

The more I learn of this story, the more I am of the opinion that the student's mother over-reacted. She should have been able to explain to her daughter the difference the world places between faith and facts. While faith and facts do not have the same worldly definition, the two have the commonality of springing from a foundation of truth.

The typical PC collection of silly "quotes".

Especially funny is "quoting" David Limbaugh.

Encyclopedia of American Loons: #882: David Limbaugh

What a hoot.

1. drum·beat
(drŭm′bēt′)
n.
Vehement, persistent advocacy of a cause:
drumbeat

2. Just as our government has no business funding the slaughter of the unborn....public schools should not be funded either based that drumbeat of attacks on religion:

"Student says teacher taught 'God is not real'
A Katy [Texas] seventh grader ...says her teacher asked the class to deny God exists.

... it all happened during a class assignment and now the school is apologizing.

...the teacher that came up with the assignment is distraught, and on Tuesday the principal determined the assignment wasn't something that was necessary for students.

[Jordan] Wooley originally answered the question 'there is no God' in two ways. "I said it was fact or opinion," said Wooley, adding she answered that way because "based on my religion and based on what I think and believe, I do not think it was a common place assertion."

Wooley says her seventh grade reading teacher at West Memorial Junior High School said both her answers were wrong and that she had to admit God wasn't real.
"It was really confusing to me at first because I didn't really know what to do, so the first thing I did was tell my mom," Wooley said.

Her mom Chantel couldn't believe it.
“That a kid was literally graded against her faith in [G]od in a classroom ....

"So the kids were caught in a Catch-22," said Chantel. "If they argued their faith, they were being told they were arguing against their faith and that happened in the classroom." Student says teacher taught 'God is not real'

Recently one of our Liberal pals posted this:

When asked to explain that reference..........he ran off and hid.
Now....where would he have learned that?

Here?
“A Lewis-Palmer High School student who was told she must apologize for mentioning Jesus in a valedictorian speech or not receive a diploma…” Monument teen appeals over Jesus graduation speech

Liberal bigotry and bias openly on public display.

What would you prefer? Leave religion alone? Total religious freedom? Reason government and religion are at odds is because religion and government are the same thing. Either you're following your religion, or you follow your government. Can't do both.

The assignment was graded....and to pass, a student had to deny her faith.

First of all, the statement of "There is a God" was one of many statements that the students were asked to identify as Fact, Opinion, or Common Assertion.

So....it is your opinion that a purpose of government schooling is to attack what faith they have, and the beliefs of their parents?

Clearly, you must be a Progressive....and agree with the Racist Progressive Woodrow Wilson, who said

"The purpose of a university should be to make a son as unlike his father as possible. By the time a man has grown old enough to have a son in college he has specialized. The university should generalize the treatment of its undergraduates, should struggle to put them in touch with every force of life."
“The University's Part in Political Life” (13 March 1909) inPWW(The Papers of Woodrow Wilson) 19:99.

Of course, the difference is that you believe that the attack should commence in grade school.

No.

Because you were taught that government school is correct in attacking children's beliefs, and because you never learned about the United States Constitution.

Of course, it may not be the fault of the private school: you might simply be a fool.
Teaching facts over fiction is what a school is all about.

Sorry, I don't read long-winded posts. Either say it in a couple of sentences or don't bother.

Yes, please keep in mind Mudda is a mentally handicapped punk who can't comprehend on anything above a third-grade level and she likes to run around being the board dictator, telling others when to move on.

Actually, sweetie, the vision of the Founding Fathers was genius in that they knew to keep you bible thumpers out of matters of the State, including public schools.

Thump all you wish in Sunday school, just not in the public schools.

Thanks for understanding.

LMFAO... Yes, I guess that explains why every school of that time was operated by the Church?

When asked to explain that reference..........he ran off and hid.
Now....where would he have learned that?

Here?

Liberal bigotry and bias openly on public display.

What would you prefer? Leave religion alone? Total religious freedom? Reason government and religion are at odds is because religion and government are the same thing. Either you're following your religion, or you follow your government. Can't do both.

1. I'd like to see if that elementary school would advance the same agenda with the parents in that room.

2. Perhaps you'd like to answer something posed earlier:
"Anyone believe that that assignment was designed "to encourage critical thinking" rather than advance a political agenda?

Has anyone ever seen 'critical thinking assignments' in government schools dealing with the Left’s love affair with Marxism, Socialism, Racialism, the slaughter of 100 million during the last century, the Command Economy, or public debt?"

Grin. No I must not be a Progressive, but rather a teacher who has presented the lesson (minus the statement about God) and understands the purpose of it. Second, I understand the definitions schools are using for fact, opinion, and common assertion.

This lesson was not about God, it was about identifying fact, opinion, and common assertion as used in school. It is my understanding the teacher added (or included) the statement about God into the lesson--and this muddied the waters big time. As I stated before, the mother (or teacher) should have been able to clarify all of this, and failed to do so. The teacher/school/school district also learned a lesson. This lesson could have been just as effectively presented without the statement about God.

When my youngest daughter was in high school she had a New Age English teacher who was heavily into witches and their beliefs. Some of the stuff she said in class was, given today's environment about religion in public schools, highly inappropriate and had nothing to do with English. However, she was a decent English teacher, and the questions my daughter brought home about New Age and witches gave us a great jumping off point for discussing the differences between this and Christianity.

While some might argue I never should have had to deal with this at home, I disagree. Christians do not live in a vacuum, and parents should be able to help their teens deal with faith challenges. My daughter's Christian faith was strengthened because of the challenge, and she came to a better appreciation that freedom of religion is meant for everyone.

My position on freedom of religion is that in every school, in every public place we should see evidence of all religions being freely practices by the community. I don't believe in erasing/sanitizing religion from the public square. It should be so common people should be surprised not to see a religion represented there.

What I know is, ever since we stripped God from schools we've had major problems.

I also know you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to the Founding Fathers. They certainly did not think schools should be devoid of God since every school in the country was being sponsored by a church, classes conducted in the church and taught by church people. This Godless Schools thing is relatively new, and what we see as a result is a generation or two of absolute morons devoid of spirituality, returning to shoot up the schools and kill people because they have no moral regard for life.

You see... YOU are our problem.

Facts???

Government schools????

No one is as dumb as your post appears.....

Government schools are, like you, an abject failure. One need simply look at how American kids do compared to other nation's on international tests.

But, worse....government schools have replaced education with this sort of indoctrination:

".... the public school indoctrinators formerly known as “teachers.“ The Obama power grab--supported by his adoring adherents--has just about reached the most monumental proportion of all time.

... Obama may have finally reached the apex of his desires; that of replacing God with himself.

Recently, at New Jersey’s B. Bernice Youngs Elementary School, not only were second grade students forced to sing a song of praise to Obama (the parents were not notified that this was occurring) but, Obama’s name was substituted for that of Jesus in the accompanying words and music.

... Could this be the reason that the atheists have fought so hard to get rid of Christianity? Is this secular messiah their planned replacement? Even more important a question to Christians and Messianic Jews is ‘does this portend biblical end times prophecy’?

.... school systems and willing adherents are pushing to corrupt and take over the very souls of our children. ... the now largely Marxist government-run US public schools system is taking advantage of our children’s lack of defenses in order to indoctrinate them into the growing Obama-Marxist secular utopia."

Worked like a charm on you, huh?
somehow YOU got through school without learning how to format paragraphs. You got "pushed" through no doubt because you were holding-up other students progress.
