Bernie Sanders has heart surgery. Campaign on hold

Not true.
More US citizens leave for medical treatment than others coming here.
The ONLY thing anyone comes here for with medical treatment is the very high end expertise.
Which most people in the US can't get or afford anyway.

There are waits in place with socialized medicine, only for routine things.
Emergencies get just as quick of treatment as in the US.
In fact, often faster since there is less paper work.

I know lots of broke lowlifes who make the trip to Wetbackville for cheap procedures. FUCK THAT SHIT.

It is silly to believe that forcing people to pay extra for health insurance to private, for profit companies, that add no medical services, could at all make health care better in the US.
Clearly get better medical service if the people hire the doctors and nurses directly instead of having them hired by for profit insurance and medical corporations, who add nothing to care except cost.

There is a huge medical tourism trade to places like India, Vietnam, etc., or organ transplants, plastic surgery, etc.
People go to France for pacemakers, etc.

Going Abroad for Medical Care
“Medical tourism” refers to traveling to another country for medical care. It’s estimated that thousands of US residents travel abroad for care each year. Many factors influence the decision to seek medical care overseas. Some people travel for care because treatment is cheaper in another country. Other medical tourists may be immigrants to the United States who prefer to return to their home country for health care. Still others may travel to receive a procedure or therapy not available in the United States. The most common procedures that people undergo on medical tourism trips include cosmetic surgery, dentistry, and heart surgery.
