Biden test-drives an electric Ford pickup truck

The Law of Thermodynamics will tell you that you aren't saving the environment and aren't saving any money with an Electric Vehicle.

The costs are just shifted so that they don't appear as obvious.

Classic Shell Game. Misdirection and Manipulation.

These stupid uneducated Moon Bats are confused in two ways:

First there are a substantial number of them that think electric batteries produce their own energy. They are simply too dumb to know that batteries only store energy.

Second, there are some of these stupid Moon Bats that think that all the charging for these batteries can be done by solar arrays and wind mills all located on the land surrounding Walden Pond. They have no idea of the amount of power that is needed to replace fossil fuels. Not a clue.

The US Postal Service won't even allow you to mail lithium batteries but yet Joe Dufus thinks it is a good idea to ride down the road with your family with them?
The post office won't allow you to mail gasoline either.

What's your point?

And BTW, the post office allows lithium batteries to be mailed, but limits their size or power. 5 Lbs, 8 cells, and 20 Wh per cell, or 100Wh per battery.

Stick to cleaning up waste.

Impressive truck
Fast and powerful

Ford F-150 is the most popular vehicle in America. If it goes electric.......Electric cars have arrived
There is no going back
Electric cars have high torque. But what about the toxic batteries? Why dont leftists care about the environment

The toxic batteries are only part of the problem.
Not only does electricity mostly come from coal, but it is so inefficient to generate electricity, transmit it, store it in a battery, retrieve it from the battery, etc., that you have to generate 3 times as much as you actually get use out of.
The cleanest is still bio-diesel.
Not an advocate for electric but you are wrong on many things.

Internal combustion engines are VERY inefficient.

Coal fired plants and cleaner gas powerplants are very efficient in converting hydrocarbons to electricity. They can also clean their "exhaust" MUCH easier than an ICE.

And batteries and electric motors are nearly 100% efficient in converting electricity into movement

Get back to us when you understand this little concept called "Energy Density"

The message is being pushed by Maddow for Biden's benefit. You rednecks need to buy an F-150 electric so you'll continue to be a man.

It doesn't annoy everybody with noise like a diesel but it purrs like a 'pussy'!
The message is, 'get a Biden truck'!
I have Tundra pickup.

A big gas guzzling V-8 produced in a non union facilty in Texas. 'Merica, fuck yea!

Actually the law of economy of scale makes electric more environmentally efficient.

Ford's big mistake!
Biden turned it into a political issue ensuring that Trump supporting rightists will laugh it right out of the competition with foreign car makers.

And Rachel Maddow drove the point home last night.
How in hell will she be able to reverse the political effects of her support for it?

Ford can burn the plans for this one yesterday.
What kind of an idiot do you have to be to not buy an American car simply because someone from your political opposition happens to like it?
You just have to be an American. Pickup truck appeal is mostly in the working class redneck and Trump has a lock on likely 75% of them. And the rest don't want electric, they want noise that can be seen and heard.
It was a big mistake for Ford to allow this thing to become political by putting Biden into the driver's seat.
Will the walkback start tonight on MSNBC or will there be a two or three days delay.

Man on man, Biden looks like a pussy in that thing, even though he's far more preferable than Trump in any other situation.
Mostly? That's nice, but electric trucks grabbing even a third of that market will be huge.

Some may like the noises, but even one go at 700lb of torque at 0rpm has a way of changing minds.

How about showing us the reference for the claim that you can get 500K miles on a battery pack?

You made the claim so shows us the reference. Are you talking about the high quality batteries they put in the expensive Teslas? Those batteries are not going to be the ones you get in a Ford or Chevy or any vehicle that most people can afford.

The ones that you are going to get are the ones they put in crappy cars like the Ford Fusion hybrid that you would be luck to get 75K miles on.

Yea, there was a UPS plane that had 81,000 lbs of lithium batteries onboard and they caught fire, the pilots did what they could by depressurizing the cargo hold to starve them of oxygen but they couldn't see from all the smoke and couldn't find the runway, and crashed short of it. The batteries were just stored on pallets. Since then they have to travel in fireproof containers.

I work in IT, and these batteries swell up, or just quit working in these Dell laptops after a while. And they are supposed to have one of the better laptop batteries.

It doesn't matter that much what type of lifespan you get on these lithium batteries, because this is going to greatly increase, as is the amount the speed at which they are charged. Considering most roundtrips to work are around 40 miles, these ranges are more than significant.

Right now there is a war on between competing corporations as to who can make the fastest recharge time and the longest lifespan. Allegedly, Quantumscape is in the lead with solid state batteries, but there are alot of players in this market, including Tesla, GM, VW, and Ford.

These stupid Moon Bats don't even know that all electric cars are really powered by fossil or nuclear fuels.

All the batteries do is store up the fossil or nuclear fuel energy.
not all of them,,
You didn't do too well in your High School Physics class, did you?
obviously better than you,,

I have an advanced degree in Engineering. I learned about Conservation of Energy. Something you obviously know nothing about.
but have you talked to every electric car owner in the country to find out how they charge their cars??

What, you think there are yokels charging their cars by a treadmill or maybe gerbil power? LOL!

You dumb fuck. They plug it into the electic power grid, which is primary fossil fuels, some nuclear, some amount of hydro and a minuscule amount of uneconomical solar and wind.

All the batteries do is store up whatever energy has already been produced. Go look it up. I shit you not.
some use their own solar system,,,

You dumb fuck. The solar array big enough to charge an electric vehicle would be enormous and cost a fortune. Much more than the cost of fossil fuels to charge the vehicle. Then it would't work at night or when the sun wasn't shinning. Then it would deteriorate over time as all solar systems do exposed to the outdoors. Just about at the same rate the batteries in the vehicle would be deteriorating.
you must have failed your class's,, cause there are several people out there doing it,,,

and I notice you threw nuclear in there,, that isnt fossil fuels,,

The only answer to future energy is fusion when fossil fuels run out.

Too bad. The best test bed in the world for fusion was the FFTF at Hanford. However the stupid Environment Wackos got their Democrat buddies to shut down the FFTF so you can kiss that goodbye. Maybe Joe Dufus Chicom buddies will come up with fusion power one of these days.

You also had a commercial airliner carrying oxygen generators that caught fire and crashed in Florida.

Too bad. The best test bed in the world for fusion was the FFTF at Hanford.

Fast Flux Test Facility Built on Safety - OSTI.GOV

FFTF, located on the. Hanford Site near Richland,. Washington, is a 400-MWt, sodium- cooled, fast-neutron reactor designed for irradiation testing of nuclear ... data are given for fusion materials that were irradiated under various neutron fluences.

Fusion Materials Development.

Provided fundamental experimental data for fusion programs

FFTF wasn't a fusion reactor.

The best test bed in the world for fusion was the FFTF at Hanford.
The first to demonstrate fusion at significant scale (10 MW) was the Tokamak Fusion Test Reactor (TFTR) device at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory,

Last year, Germany completed and turned on the Wendelstein 7-X nuclear fusion reactor. This amazing piece of technology uses a complicated design called a stellerator, and scientists have finally managed to verify that the design works like it's supposed to

The largest current device is the Joint European Torus (JET) in the UK, which has a radius of about 3 meters (m) and has made 16 MW of fusion power.

he DIII-D National Fusion Facility, which is operated for the Department of Energy by General Atomics in San Diego, are used to explore the physics for future facilities and develop techniques to raise fusion performance.

...and at the end of the day all they will have is an energy storage unit for energy that was produced elsewhere.

That energy storage unit was also manufactured at a great environmental pollution and humanitarian cost to the planet and will be an economic disaster in the long run.

You think that we are going run out of petrol one of these days? Just wait until you how fast we run out of the rare earth elements that are used in these stupid environmental disaster batteries.

I thought all the Moon Bats were big on saving Mother Earth? WTF?

Are they stupid or are they simply being misled?

When the power grid is decimated near the End of Days, the only thing that you will be able to run on are your own two feet, a bicycle and a petro powered vehicle if you can find the petro. There won't be electricity in most places.

So don't get rid of your combustion engines any time soon.

Might be able to do a natural gas conversion, rig hydrogen fuel cell, or use a wood smoke-gas conversion to convert from petro.

Diesel might be a way to go because you could make your own bio diesel if you know what you are doing or run on vegetable oils if you can find them.

What's funny is electric vehicles are supposed to be replacements for the oh so soon to be gone fossil fuels. Lithium is FAR more limited than fossil fuels. You people are stupid.

Completely untrue. The fixed fossil fuel powered power plants are the single greatest source of pollution in the world. Cars and other vehicles are a very minor contributor. Your knowledge of the subject is quite small.
