Big Government, Socialism, and the VA

The reason the VA scandal could never happen in the Private Sector is obvious to anyone with a brain..... Which leaves out dimocraps.

Think about this for a minute..... What would happen if this occurred in the Private Sector?

1) There would be CRIMINAL PROSECUTIONS IMMEDIATELY.

No hemming and hawing, no 'We need to Investigate". People would be cuffed and stuffed within hours of the breaking news.

Who do you think is going to be Jailed for this horror? I doubt anybody will be.

2) The families of the dead would sue the Hospital, the Board of the Hospital, the people on the Board individually, the administrators personally, the people who made the list personally..... And they'd win. They'd take everything they own. IF, they managed to avoid Prison.

But here? The goobermint?

Nothing. No accountability, no lawsuits (try suing the Federal government and talk to me in ten years), no prosecutions, no ---

No nothing, people.

There is no reason for these people to give a flying fuck. So guess what?

They don't.

You are a fucking idiot. Enron. Took a while for the prosecutions, and the people that got rich off of that private scam stayed rich.

Biggest problem at the VA was when Bush started 2 wars without first finding the $$$ and resources to fight them and take care of the warriors during and after the figtht.
Oh stop it. The wars were voted on and funded by Congress.

I worked in a VA hospital in the late 70s to early 80s. It was screwed up then and likely before. I also grew up as a military dependent and didn't have exactly the best of care. What I remember most is waiting...and waiting...and waiting. Human nature being what it is folks don't give a rip when you can't fire them.

As I remember Congress voted to turn the war over to President Bush as he, Bush, thought necessary and appropriate. It was Bush's call, his decision, his baby. You didn't see Congress flying on to a carrier deck claiming mission accomplished. That war was Bush from beginning to end.

Such bullshit.

If you have an emergency you get treated at the VA emergency room.

You've really become clueless, haven't you...

(CNN) -- President Barack Obama promised accountability, but he made clear Wednesday he won't fire Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki -- yet -- over excessive and sometimes deadly waiting times faced by veterans seeking government health care.
Obama: Shinseki stays for now, but VA misconduct will be punished - CNN.com

Clearly, the vulgar verbiage in your posts is inversely proportional to what you actually know.

There was problems with some of the VA hospitals when I was serving in the Army in Alexandria, Va. Many of the problems were, people getting operations ment for other people, or you could go into Reed Hospital and die from a misdiagnosis and a fatal dose of pills or a botched operation.

Look at the period during Nam, when hospitals were over run with vets in need and many never getting help. No system is perfect when you are working with a radial element of casualties after 12 years of the War on Terror.
And don't tell Polivynilchick that there were problems with the VA during Booosh!

Interesting that you bring up the Democrat scandal, Enron.

It was allowed to burgeon because Clinton wouldn't investigate.
It wasn't until Bush did, that it was revealed.

"Documents Link Enron's Fall to Clinton 'Corruption'

In 1992, Enron was one of the most popular contributors to Bill Clinton and the DNC. Enron was right next to Bill Clinton from his first days in the White House. In 1992, Enron donated $100,000 to Clinton's inauguration, and Enron's top exec, Ken Lay, stayed at the White House 11 times.

If the FBI, GAO or Congress wants to investigate billions of dollars lost to "corruption, collusion and nepotism," they need look no further than Bill Clinton."

Now you've ventured into the category of being a lying political hack.

If you like, I can prove that the Democrat elites were the first to advance the idea of attacking Iraq.

Admit it.

Admit it.

Advancing an idea means what? In problem solving all kinds of ideas are advanced but In politics smart politicians don't always buy every idea advanced. Bush bought this one, and the idea probably came from his own advisers, but it was Bush that bought it, and later it was declared dumb, dumb, dumb.
Still, I wonder if it was all worth that one carrier landing. In fact, I now wonder if that carrier landing will even be mentioned in the history, books? Damn communist historians.

In my and the real world advancing ideas is a helluva lot different than attacking and starting a war.

The Real Enron Scandal: Documents Link Enron's Fall to Clinton 'Corruption'

"Enron founder Ken Lay and his family rank among President Bush’s biggest financial backers of his political career. The family donated about $140,000 to Bush’s political campaigns in Texas and for the White House."

"Overall, Enron employees gave Bush some $600,000 in political donations. According to the Center for Public Integrity, this made Enron Bush’s top career donor, a distinction the company maintained until 2004."

P.S. Enron's downfall had nothing to do with any Bush investigation.

Iraq was first attacked in early 1991, over oil. George Bush Sr. was president.

BBBBAAAAWWWWWWWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

it'll take generations for them ....................................

Enron is the fault of BOTH parties but when Bush wanted to change the rules and went to Congress asking for that and more SEC control business interests shot him down.

Let's hear the conservative plan for veterans' healthcare.

Or should we assume you don't have one?

1. Conservatives voted down the wasteful Senate bill that would have allowed non service related injuries to now be treated by the VA. An already over taxed system and all that bill would have done would have further delayed treatment for service related injuries of veterans.
2. Get a grip on the disability fraud run rampant and address it. Both parties are to blame on this. We know a kid down the road gets $700 a month for life and rising for a sprained ankle in training once. And they need to change the rule allowing partial disability ratings and then we see these same guys working full time for $180K a year as contractors.
3. Encourage vets to use their existing health care benefits where they work for primary care and expand that.
4. Encourage private doctors to offer care and services pro bono, fat chance of this but it is worth a try.
5. Interns and residency requirements in VA for med school students, loan decreases for service to the VA after they get their MD
6. Listen to the Pentagon and not the politicians. Politicians have fucked up all the costs of the military.
Just for starters.
