Being from Atlanta ,I saw Billy Joe Royal quite often, him and Joe South 'great song writer' played at apt complexes and community centers then nightclubs.
Knowing him or not he was a fantastic singfer, Joe was a great song writer, wrote most of Billys songs.

To me, this song written by Joe South, but done by Billy Joe just might be their best ever masterpiece.
